Fast Bbq Pork Ribs Recipe

lbs /1 kg pork ribs

onions (thinly sliced)

garlic

coriander seeds (crushed)

Trim the ribs and remove any excess fat or membranes.

Heat 3 tablespoons oil in large pot. Saute onion and garlic until tender. Add the ribs, crushed coriander seeds and enough chicken broth to cover the ribs. Bring to a boil, reduce and simmer on low, covered for about 45 minutes, until ribs are tender but not falling apart.

Preheat the bbq to medium heat. Remove the ribs from the boiling water and discard water and onions. Using a brush, cover the ribs all over with bbq sauce and put on grill, meatier side down. Grill for about 10-15 minutes, continually turning and basting with bbq sauce as needed.

Serve immediately. Serve with more bbq sauce.

Thai BBQ Pork Spare Ribs

5-6 lbs. Smithfield Extra Tender Fresh Pork Spare Ribs

peanuts (optional for garnish)

tbsp. Thai red curry paste

tbsp. rice vinegar

tbsp. fish sauce

soy sauce

coconut sugar

cilantro (minced)

peanut butter

brown sugar

tomato paste

tsp. rice vinegar

tbsp. chili garlic sauce

Combine all the marinade ingredients in a bowl and add the ribs, flipping to make sure the surface of the meat is covered. Let sit in the fridge for at least 6 hours, or overnight (preferred).

Combine all the BBQ sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well to combine. Store in the fridge until ready to use.

Heat the grill to 250 degrees. Wrap the marinated ribs tightly with aluminum foil (use several layers of foil to prevent leakage) and place on the grill.

Cook for 2 1/2 hours at about 250 degrees, flipping every 30 minutes to keep the ribs juicy.

Remove the ribs from the grill and take the foil off. Turn the grill up to 400 degrees.

Brush the Thai BBQ sauce over the ribs and place them directly on the grill. Cook for about 7-10 minutes per side, or until sauce has caramelized.

Remove from the grill, slice with a cleaver or kitchen shears, and serve brushed with additional BBQ sauce and crushed peanuts.

Richly seasoned and perfectly roasted, Chinese BBQ ribs are an easy and tasty way to cook pork ribs. Both oven-roasting and air-frying methods are included.

Chinese BBQ Ribs (叉烧排骨)

garlic powder (or fine garlic paste)

Lay each rack of ribs on a piece of aluminium foil (big enough to wrap around the ribs. Use two layers if the foil is very thin). Tear off the membrane from the back of the ribs.

In a bowl, mix char siu sauce, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, five-spice powder, garlic powder, ground chili, and food coloring (if using) until well combined.

Generously brush the mixture over both sides of the ribs. Then place sliced ginger over the top of the ribs. Wrap each rack tightly with the foil.

Leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 4 hours (Do not exceed 24 hours). Bring them back to room temperature 1 hour before you start the roasting process.

Preheat the oven to 410°F (210°C/Fan 190°C/Gas 6).

Take the ribs out of the foil (discard the ginger) and place them onto a wire rack that sits inside a roasting tray. Add some hot water to the tray (make sure it doesn’t touch the ribs).

Place the tray into the oven. Leave to roast for 35 minutes (add more water if when it dries out).

Take out and brush a layer of honey over the topside of the ribs. Put the tray back into the oven (add more water if necessary).

Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C/Fan 200°C/Gas 7). Roast for a further 10 minutes or so until the ribs char a little on the edge.

Option 1: Oven-Roasting

Preheat the air-fryer at 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.

Place the marinated ribs (discard the ginger) over the crisper tray without overlapping. Cook for 10 minutes.

Brush honey over the top side of the ribs. Cook 2 more minutes until the ribs char a little.

Option 2: Air-Frying

Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes. Separate each rib with a sharp knife and serve immediately.

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.  Set aside

Dry Rub Blend

Wash the slab of ribs with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane on the back side by placing a paring knife underneath the membrane and gently pull it back from one end of the slab to the other end and discard. If it&#039;s slippery, you can use a paper towel so you&#039;ll have a better grip when pulling the membrane back. (Note: I find that there isn&#039;t a difference in removing the membrane, so I tend to omit that particular step).  Remove any excess fat by cutting it off with a sharp knife and discard.

Place the ribs in a roasting pan or baking sheet.  Season the slab of ribs with kosher salt and a generous amount of dry rub. Gently massage the dry rub into the ribs then lightly press into the ribs with your hands. Place plastic wrap over the ribs and allow the ribs to marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour up to 24 hours.

After the ribs have marinated, place on the countertop and bring to room temperature.  Meanwhile, fire up the grill using your process and when the grill is ready, position the slab of pork ribs on the grill grates and close the lid.  Grill on one side for 30 minutes then flip and grill the other side for 30 to 40 minutes.

By this time, the ribs should have a beautiful brown crispy outer coating and no longer pink. Remove the ribs from the grill and place them in a clean roasting pan or baking sheet.  At this point, slather on your favorite BBQ sauce if you like. Place the ribs in a 330 degree preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes to tenderize the ribs more.

Allow the ribs to cool a bit.  Using a sharp knife, cut the slab into individual ribs by cutting alongside each rib bone and serve.
