Belly is the cheapest pork roasting joint and, as it’s rich, a little goes a long way, making it perfect for Sundays and dinner parties

Crisp Chinese pork

tsp Chinese five-spice powder

tbsp soy sauce (we used Kikkoman)

Rub the pork with the five-spice and 2 tsp sea salt then leave, uncovered, in the fridge for at least 2 hrs, but preferably overnight. When ready to cook, heat oven to its maximum setting. Lay the pork on a rack over a roasting tin, making sure the skin is exposed. Roast for 10 mins before turning down the heat to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4, then leave to cook for a further 1½ hrs. Have a look at the pork – if the skin isn’t crisp, turn up the heat to 220C/fan 200C/gas 7, then cook for another 30 mins until crisp. Leave to rest on a board for at least 10 mins.

To make the dipping sauce, mix all the ingredients together with 2 tbsp water. Cut the pork into small pieces, then serve with the sauce, plus boiled rice and steamed greens, if you like.

½ kgs Pork belly, well scored (Main)

Flaky pastry sheets, use more as required

Heat oven to 150C. Place the pork in a small roasting dish, skin-side up. Pour over cider or juice and place apples and cloves alongside. Cover tightly with a sheet of foil and bake for 3 hours.

Remove the cloves and strain juices into a saucepan and simmer to thicken into an apple gravy/sauce.

Meanwhile, increase oven temperature to 180C. Rub some salt and oil into the skin of the pork and roast until it crackles.

Remove crackling from pork and set aside. Slice the pork and place in the pie tins with the apples and sauce. Seal with pastry tops and bake for 30 minutes.

Serve pies with a piece of crackling on top and some mashed potato.

(110 grams) brown sugar

(80 milliliters) red wine vinegar

star anise

(250 milliliters) Massel chicken style liquid stock

mint leaves

coriander leaves

red chilli, deseeded, thinly sliced

Easy Baked Pork Belly

Place all of the ingredients (except the sesame seeds, pork belly, and green onions) into a large bowl. Whisk to combine.

Add the pork belly pieces and toss to coat with the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for one hour.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Arrange the pork belly on the baking sheet being careful not to overlap.

Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, carefully turn each piece over, and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.&nbsp; Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes.

Serve immediately.

Crispy Pork Belly Tricks No One Knows About | Perfect Crackling

This is my adaptation of a pork bulgogi recipe I found.

Mix all ingredients, except pork, together, then stir pork slices through.

Cook in frying pan until cooked and lightly blackened on both sides.

Marinated pork belly is skewered and grilled to perfection in this Asian-inspired recipe. The marinade tenderizes the pork and draws out some of the fat so that the pork can be grilled quickly on a high heat while keeping the meat moist and delicious.

Grilled Pork Belly Skewers

pork belly, (skin removed, cut into 3/4 inch cubes)

sesame seeds, (for garnish)

green onions, (for garnish)

olive oil

mirin

ginger, (finely grated)

green onions, (sliced)

Measure all of the marinade ingredients into a bowl or measuring cup. Use a whisk to combine it and set aside.

Next, transfer the prepared pork to a bowl with a tight fitting lid. Pour the marinade over the pork and toss the pork well to combine with the marinade.

Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours, but no more than 24 hours.

Once the pork has marinated, assemble the kebabs. Skewer one piece at a time, making sure that each piece just touches the next.  Do not push the pork pieces together, because this will prevent the pork from caramelizing properly.

Preheat grill to 400°F

Place skewers onto hot grill and cook for 3 minutes per side.  Do not leave grill unattended.  Pork belly has a lot of fat, which can cause flare ups if too much drips and reaches the flame.

Once done, remove from grill, plate, and garnish with sesame seeds and more green onions.

I missed this for father's day, haha but I know my dad is going to love this for the 4th of July! Perfect summer recipe!

Meltingly tender and crispy all at the same time - that’s the brilliance of pork belly. The trick to super crispy pork crackling is placing the pork belly in the fridge overnight to help to dry out the skin and maximise the crackle. Plus, cooking it in the air fryer allows the skin to dry out even further while keeping the meat underneath incredibly moist. This is a great way to enjoy pork belly in minutes of cooking rather than hours in the oven.


Air fryer pork belly bites recipe

Sea salt, to sprinkle

3cm knob ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

(1/2 cup) caster sugar

42.00 gm light soy sauce

Place the pork belly in a shallow dish. Place in the fridge for at least 8 hours or overnight to dry out (do not cover the pork with plastic wrap as it needs to dry out). Cut the pork into 4cm pieces.

Meanwhile, make the orange soy caramel. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat to high and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until sauce reduces and thickens.

Spray pork liberally with oil. Sprinkle with salt. Place half the pork in the air fryer basket. Cook at 200C for 15 minutes or until just golden and crisp. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with remaining pork. Serve with caramel.
