This <strong>Easy Homemade Vanilla Cupcakes Recipe</strong> makes perfectly moist, completely irresistible cupcakes! These light and fluffy cupcakes are topped with creamy vanilla buttercream and topped with sprinkles for the ultimate sweet treat.

Easy Homemade Vanilla Cupcakes Recipe

(163 grams) all-purpose flour

tsp baking powder

tsp salt

tbsp (84 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

(155 grams) sugar

tbsp (30 milliliters) vegetable oil

tsp vanilla extract

eggs

milk

(224 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

(460 grams) powdered sugar

½ tsp vanilla extract

water

salt

Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C) and prepare a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl and set aside.

Add the butter, sugar, oil and vanilla extract to a large mixer bowl and beat together until light in color and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes. Do not skimp on the creaming time.

Now it&#8217;s time to add the eggs. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until mostly combined after each. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to be sure all ingredients are well incorporated.

Add half of the dry ingredients to the batter and mix until mostly combined.

Slowly add the milk and mix until well combined. The batter will look curdled, but that’s ok.

Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until well combined and smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to be sure all ingredients are well incorporated. Do not over mix the batter.

Fill the cupcake liners about 3/4 full and bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove cupcakes from the oven and place on a cooling rack to cool.

Vanilla Cupcakes

Add the butter to a large mixer bowl and beat until smooth.

Carefully pour in about half of the powdered sugar and mix until smooth and well combined.

Add the vanilla extract and 1-2 tablespoons of the water or milk and the salt to the frosting and mix until well combined.

Add the remaining powdered sugar and mix until smooth. Add additional milk or water as needed to get the right consistency.

Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes. I used Ateco tip 844.

Cupcakes are best when stored well covered for 2-3 days.

I'm so glad to hear that! You can definitely make a layer cake with it. Here's the recipe for it in cake form - my Moist Vanilla Layer Cake. I bake it in three 8 inch layers, but you could do two 9 inch. Hi, I would love to try these they look amazing but I wish there was an eggless vanilla cupcakes recipe. My 3 year old is allergic to eggs. Can I replace eggs with anything else?

Wow, these turned out fantastic! I’m a diehard chocolate lover and have made a lot of your chocolate cupcake and cake recipes to rave reviews. My kids were looking for a non-chocolate change of pace so of course I came here first. Vanilla cupcakes have given me trouble in the past but these came out light and fluffy, with a perfect vanilla flavor. Nicely done as usual Lindsay!

These are soooooo good! I Made sure to measured by weight, sift the flour 3 times with the baking powder, bake un a light colored cupcake tin, use lowest speed setting after adding the flour. Resulted un moist, light cupcakes, way beyond my expectation. Didn't film too high for 15 flat cupcakes,great for decorating. Will shoot for 13 next time. Thank you so much for such a great recipe! How do we make this one into a lemon batter? I did the lemon with the egg white but this recipe is the one we really love! Do I just add some lemon zest to batter?

I Haven't Made This recipe Yet But I would Like to add a note. If Your Cupcakes are a bit Salty add 1/2 Teaspoon Instead Of One And If Its still To salty Add 1/4 A teaspoon. I have used this Recipe I don’t know seven times it worked every time it’s my family favorite

I’m looking at all the comments and I don’t know if i should make them or not

These came out super dry and crumbly! So I remade them with avocado oil instead of butter and left out the cornstarch (because I was using pastry flour) and they were perfect. 25 minutes? Mine were done at 15 minutes! And I used an oven thermometer to verify the temp. With oil they were done at about 18 minutes. The oil did not make the cupcakes dense. It made them soft.

It was a good recipe and tasted really good but maybe less egg. My family and I could smell the egg in the cupcake. Overall great recipe.

we melted cotton candy and added it instead of vanilla! great with cream cheese frosting.

Came out WAY too buttery and gross,, tasted weird. I followed the recipe carefully and everything

I rate it a 3 because it was super easy to make but when it came time to eat it they were to salty. I used less amount of kosher salt then it called for and all i could taste was salt. i couldnt enjoy it because  it was to Salty! I knew i should have used regular salt. In my opinion never doing this one again.

I made a cake instead and it was delicious 10/10 recommend

vanilla bean

cake flour, not self-rising

baking soda

unsalted butter

eggs (room temperature)

sour cream

canola oil

vanilla extract (use pure, not imitation)

whole milk (room temperature)

Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C).

In a small bowl, combine sugar and seeds from the vanilla bean. (For those of you who are new to using vanilla beans, watch the video in this post to see how it's done.)

Using the back of a spoon, move around the bowl and apply pressure to break up any clumps of seeds and to better infuse the vanilla flavor into the sugar. Set aside.

In a medium-sized mixing bowl or bowl of a stand mixer, mix together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add the vanilla bean sugar and mix until well combined.

Add butter and mix on medium-low speed for three minutes. Because there is so little butter, you&#x27;ll end up with a very fine crumb texture.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, sour cream, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and beat on medium speed until just combined.

Slowly add milk and mix on low speed until just combined. The batter will be liquid. (Don&#x27;t worry, you didn&#x27;t do anything wrong. It&#x27;s supposed to be that way.)

Fill cupcake liners just over 1/2 full.

Bake for 14 minutes and then test to see if they are done. They are done when a toothpick comes out without wet batter stuck to it. The cupcakes should appear white with specks of vanilla bean. They should not turn a golden brown. If they are not done, test again in two minutes. If they are still not done, test again in another two minutes.

When the cupcakes are done, remove them immediately from the tins and leave them on a cooling rack (or just on your counter if you don't own a cooling rack) to cool.

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Line muffin pans with cupcake liners.  Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl.

Beat the butter and sugar on high speed in a stand mixer or using a handheld mixer for 3 minutes until creamy and light. Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl.

Add egg whites and vanilla, beating on medium-high speed until combined.  Beat in sour cream.

Add the dry ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined, then scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl.

With the mixer running on low speed, add the milk, stirring just until combined.  Do not overmix.

Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter, then bake for 19-22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
