The classic, original Bisquick® coffee cake is still just as good as coffee cake gets with the super convenient use of our favorite baking mix! Whether you enjoy this coffee cake at breakfast or as a dessert, the crumbly streusel topping will have you savoring every bite!

Bisquick baking mix

To begin, preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick, milk, sugar, egg, and cinnamon. Mix well, then spread the mixture into the bottom of your prepared cake pan.

In a clean mixing bowl, add the baking mix, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Use a fork or a pastry blender to thoroughly combine all ingredients until crumbly. Then, spread the topping in an even layer over the cake batter. Drag a butter knife across the top in a criss-crossed or tic-tac-toe pattern a few times.

Finally, bake your coffee cake in the preheated oven on the center rack until a toothpick stuck in the center comes out clean, usually about 25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly in the pan on a wire cooling rack before serving warm.

Bisquick Coffee Cake Recipe

baking mix (such as Bisquick®)

tbsp sugar

tbsp butter

Grease a deep 9 Inch pie pan and preheat the oven to 400°F.

In a medium bowl combine the baking mix, milk, sugar, egg and cinnamon. Mix until well combined. Spread the batter into the pie pan.

Mix up the topping: In a separate bowl use a fork or pastry cutter to combine the baking mix, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon.

Spread the topping over the batter in the pie pan. Use a butter knife to gently press the topping down into the batter as if making a tic tac toe board several times over the top of the cake.

Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in the pan before cutting and serving.

Homemade Bisquick Coffee Cake

bisquick mix

brown sugar (packed)

butter

milk (2% or whole milk)

applesauce (unsweetened)

vanilla

egg (room temperature)

sugar

Pre-heat oven to 350F/180C. Grease and flour or spray an 8 inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl whisk together the biscuit mix, brown sugar and cinnamon cut in the butter to form coarse crumbs. Set aside.

FOR THE TOPPING

In a large bowl whisk together the milk, applesauce, vanilla and egg until well combined. Add the biscuit mix and sugar, stir just until combined.

Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan, top with the streusel topping and bake 20-25 minutes or until done. Test with a toothpick. Let cool or serve warm. Drizzle with vanilla glaze before serving. Enjoy!

FOR THE CAKE

In a small/medium bowl combine the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. The glaze shouldn&#39;t be too thick or too thin.

FOR THE VANILLA GLAZE

Bisquik coffee cakes are the best.  I bake the one with sour cream in it.  It is so good that my daughter-in-law requests it every year for her birthday Sunday dinner with the family. I double the cake recipe and quadruple the topping!
