Making copycat Bisquick dumplings is really as easy to make as they are delicious to eat. You're going to really enjoy these dumplings as they can compliment almost any dish including stew.

Original Bisquick Dumplings Recipe

Cups of biscuit baking mix (Bisquick)

milk

Any herbs, cheeses, spices, or other flavorings (optional)

Pot of your favorite stew or mushroom soup

Get a pot of your favorite stew cooking and bring it to a slow simmer.

Measure out the baking mix by filling a cup measure and using a butter knife to level off the cup so you have an exact measurement. 

Whisk the baking mix, milk, and any optional ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix just until a soft dough forms, no more. You should not mix any longer than two minutes.

Let the dough sit for 5-10 minutes to rise.

Bring the stew to a rolling simmer. Drop the dough by large spoonfuls into the stew. Continue until all the dough is used. Be sure to use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and get all the bits of dough out.

Reduce the heat of the stew to low and cook uncovered for 10 minutes, this will help cook the bottoms of the dumplings.

Cover the pot and cook for another 10 minutes to cook the tops of the dumplings all the way through.

Serve hot!

Crockpot Chicken and Bisquick Dumplings is an easier version of the delicious classic comfort food. Let the base simmer all day, then drop in the dumplings an hour before serving!

Chicken and Bisquick Dumplings + Video

chicken breasts (uncooked)

condensed cream of chicken soup (or 3 cups Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup)

chicken broth (low sodium)

butter

onion powder

bay leaves

poultry seasoning

parsley

salt

black pepper

Bisquick mix

In your slow cooker combine all ingredients, (except Bisquick and milk) stir to combine.

Cover and cook on low 7 hours or (on high for 3-4 hours), stirring occasionally.

Mix Biquick and milk in a medium bowl.

Add dumplings with a tablespoon scooper or by heaping teaspoon, gently press on dumplings to submerge.

Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until dumplings are cooked through.

Serve and enjoy!
