A tantalizing Bourbon drink that is both refreshing and self-indulgent. This Basil and Fresh Peach Bourbon Cocktail begins with muddled fresh peaches and basil. It finishes with a stiff dose of bourbon.

Basil and Fresh Peach Bourbon Cocktail

Peach,

Basil Leaves

Lemon

oz Simple Syrup (sweetness preference)

– 3 oz Bourbon (stout preference)

Basil leaves

Peach Slices for garnishment

Muddle the peach and basil in a rocks glass.

Add the fresh lemon juice and simple syrup.

Add crushed ice to fill the glass. Garnish with peach slices and basil leaves.

I tried this recipe last summer and I'm so happy peach season is upon us again to revisit it.

Those bourbon-infused peaches sound fantastic!  I'm planning a trip over into SC soon to pick peaches, and I think I know how I'll use a couple of 'em!  I'm a sucker for anything with bourbon, and this sounds like my kinda cocktail!

This icy peach bourbon cocktail is the perfect refreshing sip on a hot summer night! Inspired by my trip to Wiggly Bridge Distillery in York, Maine.

Bourbon Peach Smash

brown sugar simple syrup ((see note))

peach (, diced (about 1/2 cup))

mint leaves

bourbon

splash ginger beer (preferred)

mint and peach slices (, for garnish)

Add peaches, mint leaves, and simple syrup to the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle to release the peach juices and mint oils. (Over-muddling the mint will cause it to become bitter.)

Add bourbon, fill the shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

Top with ginger beer or seltzer water. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and a peach slice.
