Try this family-style Bolognese sauce in your slow cooker – it makes four very generous servings or easily stretches to six when served with lots of spaghetti. It keeps well in the fridge for a couple of days and freezes brilliantly for up to four months.

Easy slow cooker spaghetti Bolognese

500 grams/1lb 2 ounces beef mince

onion,

garlic cloves, crushed

200 grams/7 ounces mushrooms, any kind, sliced

tin chopped tomatoes

275 milliliters/9½fl oz hot beef stock, stock

tomato purée

oregano

bay leaves,

salt and black pepper

spaghetti, grated cheese and basil, to serve

This slow cooker chilli is made using beef mince and simple store cupboard ingredients. It will keep well in the fridge for a couple of days and freezes beautifully – serve with rice, tacos or warmed tortilla wraps, alongside soured cream or grated cheese and a squeeze of fresh lime, if you like.
Each serving (excluding sides and rice) provides 276 kcal, 22g protein, 12g carbohydrate (of which 5.6g sugars), 14g fat (of which 5.9g saturates), 4.4g fibre and 0.54g salt.

This slow cooker pulled chicken recipe is perfect piled into tacos and wraps, or used as a filling for jacket potatoes. It uses affordable, easy-to-find ingredients the whole family will love. If you like a little more heat, add ½-1tsp dried chilli flakes or chilli powder to the pot.
