These easy, low-carb Buffalo Shrimp Lettuce Wraps are spicy, light and delicious topped with celery and blue cheese or ranch dressing.

Buffalo Shrimp Lettuce Wraps

olive oil

shrimp (chopped)

garlic

hot sauce (such as Frank's)

head romaine or butter lettuce (leaves separated,

red onion (finely chopped)

rib celery (sliced thin)

light blue cheese

chives (optional garnish)

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add shrimp and garlic. Cook, flipping halfway, until pink and opaque on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Turn off heat and add the hot sauce, tossing to coat.

Assemble wraps: Add scant 1/4 cup of shrimp to the center of a romaine leaf, then top with dressing, red onion and chives.

Spicy fried Buffalo Shrimp are a bar food favorite, and simple to make at home. This recipe uses a homemade buffalo sauce to make these crispy shrimp extra tasty.

Buffalo Shrimp

shrimp

salt

black pepper

all purpose flour

garlic powder

onion powder

cayenne pepper (use less if desired)

smoked paprika

oregano

thyme

unsalted butter (melted, ½ cup in total)

Hot Sauce

honey

Season shrimp with salt and pepper.

In a large Ziploc bag, combine flour with garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, smoked paprika, oregano, and thyme.

Add the shrimp to the bag with the flour mixture, seal, and shake to coat the shrimp.

Transfer the coated shrimp to a wire rack placed on a sheet pan. Place in the fridge for 20-30 minutes. Do not discard the remaining flour in the Ziploc bag.

Add 2 inches of oil to a Dutch Oven, or if using a deep fryer, fill with oil per the manufacturer&#39;s instructions. Preheat the oil to 350°F/180°C.

Make the buffalo sauce by combing the butter with hot sauce and honey. Set aside.

Remove the shrimp from the fridge, and return to the Ziploc bag and shake again with the flour mixture. Shaking off any excess flour, drop into hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes, depending on the size of the shrimp. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

While still hot, toss fried shrimp in the buffalo sauce.

Buffalo Shrimp on lettuce wraps with a cilantro lime slaw

shrimp ((we use 35-45 count))

Tablespoons Uncle Dougies Wicked Good No Fry Wing Marinade

leaves leaf lettuce ((Boston bibb also works well))

green cabbage (shredded)

red cabbage (shredded)

seasoned rice vinegar

lime juice

Tablespoons cilantro (chopped)

cherry tomatoes (sliced)

onion

Tablespoons blue cheese (crumbled)

&nbsp;Heat a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat.  While pan is heating, toss together cabbage, red cabbage, cilantro, rice vinegar and lime juice to make the cilantro lime slaw

Add the shrimp to the pan along with the hot sauce and toss lightly to coat. Cook for about 5-6 minutes turning shrimp at least once to ensure they are cooked through on both sides.  The shrimp is done when it has turned pink evenly.

To put together the lettuce wraps: lay a leaf of lettuce down on a plate.  Line the lettuce with slaw and then top with shrimp.&nbsp; Garnish with cherry tomato, green onion, and blue cheese.&nbsp; Enjoy!
