Oh WOW so good, sorry we used our own hamburger recipe we love, used our favourite things on a burger and sorry we eat a lot smaller portions so no bun just a side of salad
these will be perfect for summer let everyone fill them their way and winner!

This recipe always works great for me. A family favorite!

You can make these with anything you wish to put in them! Easy and delicious every once in awhile!!!

These are amazing, takes some time to figure out how to make them, but well worth the effort.

beer can is too thick or you would need to use more that 1/2 lb per burger. Could not get the burger to stay together after pulling the can out (carefully) because the walls of the burger are too thin.

Way to big, and does not stay together well; and where is the beer, Lol.

Healthy burger bowls with special sauce are the perfect way to get your burger fix with even more fresh veggies and flavor. These bowls are so easy to make, use only real food ingredients, and the delicious "special sauce" dressing pulls everything together. This recipe is Whole30 compliant, Paleo-friendly, and low carb.

Healthy Burger Bowls with Special Sauce

onion powder

oregano

paprika

Romaine lettuce

Tomatoes

Pickles

Red onion

mayo

ketchup

yellow mustard

pickle juice

dill relish

Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and spices. Brown the beef, breaking it up as it cooks, until it is fully cooked through.

While the beef is browning, make the special sauce. Add all of the ingredients to a small bowl and whisk together until well combined.

Assemble your burger bowls. Start with romaine lettuce then add the toppings and cooked ground beef. Drizzle the special sauce over everything and then enjoy!

The sauce for these bowls is AMAZING! Loved how flexible this recipe was and that I could throw whatever I was feeling into the bowl. I served this with a side of sweet potato fries and it was just the perfect meal. Adding this to our weekly rotation!

This recipe was so good and so easy to make! I love the fact that is still burgers but just with more lettuce :) The sauce is so on point and a really great addition to the dish besides your plain ketchup or mustard. Will be using that sauce for a lot more things! Can't wait to make this a regular meal!

This was amazing! Great for the keto diet but felt like I was eating a Big Mac. Will make again for sure! Thank you!

This recipe was excellent! I made it ahead of time to take with us camping- it traveled and stored well in the cooler and heated up easily once we were there. It was absolutely delicious. My husband loved it- and he is usually not one to try recipes that would change up his typical burger. This will definitely be a keeper recipe that gets added to our normal menu rotation! Thank you so much for the recipe!

These were amazing! Served with a side of fries and even my kids loved it :) Thanks for the great recipe!

Quick, easy, had all the ingredients on hand - subbed beef for turkey. Even the kids loved it and said it was a "keeper"!

My husband and I loved this recipe - especially the special sauce! I really liked that we got the taste of a burger while keeping it healthier!

This bowl is so good, so easy, so versatile! Definitely adding this to our regular meal prep rotation. Thank you Ashlea!

Made this tonight and served over greens with carrot fries and roasted Brussels. Epic dinner. Will be having this often for sure!

This recipe will get you through your whole30!! We've kept it on the menu even past whole30 because it's so yummy and filling!

Made this one day when the hamburger buns I bought happened to be moldy. This was AMAZING. The recipe is written in a way that made me confident that I could do some substitutes or leave somethings out and still have it be good. This was important because I was making this in a pinch so flexibility was key. I may never go back to eating a burger the classic way again. Such a great recipe!

So easy and delicious! I like to use this at the end of the week so all my toppings are delicious leftovers! Love the extra suggestions!

Made this at the beginning of the week to have for lunch all week. It was sooo good! The special sauce was the highlight for sure. This one’s a keeper!

So delicious! Easy to make. The sauce was so good!

So delicious! This special sauce is out of this world and will become a regular in my house!

Yum! Super easy, delicious and filling! I didn't miss the burger buns at all. Great recipe!

This recipe is quickly becoming a weekly staple in our household! Can't get enough of that burger sauce... I could 'put that sh*t on everything'!

We had these bowls for dinner tonight and loved them! We all agreed that the sauce tastes like the fry sauce at our favorite burger place, and my kids asked me to make this recipe again! Score! Thanks for a great and healthy recipe!

Hi!

Made this tonight for dinner and everyone loved it! Followed the directions exactly as written with each person doing the favorite burger fixin’s. This is definitely be on the regular rotation menu for summer!

Thanks for another great recipe!!

This burger bowl has become a regular dish in our house - it's so simple to whip up and SO DELICIOUS! The special sauce takes it to the next level, and it 1000% fills my craving for a burger. Absolutely a must-try!

This is one of my favorite recipes and has become a regular in my meal prep rotation! I absolutely love adding a little bit of Sriracha to the sauce recipe for an added kick!

This recipe is the bomb.com!
So yummy. So easy.
Hubby loved it.
Will definitely go in the rotation!!

This is one of our favorite recipes! We have it every other week and we make the special sauce any time we have oven fries. We have a different comb of "toppings" every time. The possibilities are endless. So easy and super tasty. I've made it with turkey and beef. Prefer beef, but both were delicious. This helped us survive two Whole30s at the beginning of the quarantine.

Seriously delicious! I was skeptical at first, but boy was this tasty!

Not sure what I can say that has been said - but this was AMAZING!

The recipe is super easy to make, and the sauce. Can one drink it, asking for a friend? I also love that you could easily swap ground beef for turkey to make it a little lighter.]

I will keep this in rotation for sure!

The best whole30 meal I’ve ever made! All of Ashlea’s recipes are easy to make but so full of flavor! I’ve tried so many and every one of them is a keeper ❤️

Love, love, looooove this! All the best parts of a burger and hits the spot when craving a burger.

My husband and I LOVE this recipe! Such an easy week night dinner with leftovers for lunch the next day! I even convinced him on multiple occasions to have this salad instead of regular burger, and each time he admits that it hit the burger craving perfectly! Great recipe, in our week night rotation!

Game changer! I found this recipe early in summer, and I make it multiple times per month! It’s easy and satisfying. Now it’s becoming a game day favorite.

One of our favorites. Healthy take on a burger and the special sauce is AWESOME.

Husband loved it, even asked to make it again.

Perfect recipe, and really fast and easy to do. I've made this several times since discovering your web site this summer, and each time it's wonderful. Definitely in my regular rotation. The meat is so flavorful, and I love how there's so much room for customizing the bowls to individual tastes.

Great recipe! I made it last week and again this week. Love how easy it is.

We absolutely love this salad! It’s in our weekly rotations and a ton of my friends have made it as well who absolutely love this! Such a great healthy twist on a true classic!

I made this for my husband and me thinking we'd have leftovers for lunch the next day..and we did not! I almost wish I had doubled the recipe because now I have to go to the store to get more ingredients to make it again...in the same week! So fun and really yummy.

I cannot recommend this recipe enough! It’s such a great and easy go to recipe on a busy night. My husband loves it when I make it.

Love this!!! Make it at least once a week. Honestly so much better without a bun!

This recipe did not disappoint! My mom is diabetic and has been struggling with her levels lately. She loves a good burger. I made this for her and it hit the spot! Easily customizable and of course I added bacon.

This is a weeknight staple in my house! All the flavors of your favorite cheeseburger but so much healthier than eating it on a roll. Quick, easy, delicious.

THESE ARE EXCELLENT. My husband is not normally a fan of ground beef (too much hamburger helper as a kid!) and this is a favorite for him too. We have made multiple times and enjoyed every bite. Thanks for an excellent recipe, Ashlea!

I found this blog over the summer and have made this recipe countless times since. It has become a weeknight staple. I love that unlike other blogs, not only does this recipe say that it's quick to make, but it is actually quick and easy to make. Plus, I pretty much always have all the ingredients on hand so I don't have to plan ahead, and the special sauce is to die for! I always make extra!

Our new family favorite! Everyone could add what they wanted. Even my teenage son ate it, which was amazing considering he doesn’t eat salads! I will define adding this to my rotation. Thank you!

Quick and delicious! Love this healthier option to eating a burger. Can’t wait to make this again!

This is the very first recipe I made from your site and wow wow wow. I love to keep it handy for when I crave a tangy picky burger but want something healthier and more nutritious. I usually keep these ingredients on hand so it's a great last minute meal, and it keeps well if you wanted to prep it in advance.

This recipe is super easy to make! It’s very delicious and one that I’ve made several times. It’s also easily customizable. You can have a different burger bowl every time. Definitely a must try!

So good! My husband asked if we could have it weekly.

I love this so much!!! The special sauce is amazing and I use it with regular burgers as well. I love having this for lunch I feel full and healthy

This is a family favorite in our house! I have to double everything up, bc my kids actually have seconds. We used Beyond Meat last time we made it and it was awesome. And we always add lots of random veggies we have on hand.

Easy and delicious! I will 100% make this for food prep. Put the meat in mini containers by serving so I can heat it up and throw it on a salad quick. The sauce was so good too!

The sauce is OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD and can be used for other dishes as well!

I had been eyeing this recipe for a while and finally bought all the ingredients to make it tonight (adding some avocado as well) and this was such a great dinner! Loved the sauce, the extra dill flavor and the idea is just genius, for those of us who prefer no buns! Love it!

Definitely a winner. A great spin on a protein-style/lettuce-wrapped burger with less mess! The sauce was a perfect balance, and no one missed the buns. When I’m craving a big juicy burger, this is my new go-to!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Healthier version of a greasy burger. I actually used 3T greek yogurt and 1/2T of Mayo to make the special sauce. Didn’t miss the extra Mayo and cut a few calories!! Had this 2 nights in a row. Thanks so much for sharing!

I am obsessed with this salad. I add white cheddar cheese when not on Whole30. So so good!

This is so good! My husband is very against bullets burgers (lol) but we both love this when we want that burger fix.

I LOVE this recipe!!! I’ve made this twice for my mom and my brother and both times they (and I) drooled over it. So good. I am making it again tonight because it is such a hit. Thanks for making this recipe, because it’s super quick, healthy, and still a yummy burger flavour that just hits the spot. NOM.

I made this for a last minute dinner, and it will be a definite weekly repeat! The sauce is amazing, it really brings the whole burger bowl together.

This dish is now a weekly request from my husband! We love it and the special sauce is so delish!
