Learn how to make your own cake flour substitute with just two simple ingredients. This easy substitute is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and so much more!

Homemade Cake Flour

+ 2 tablespoons (110 grams) all-purpose flour

(15 grams) cornstarch ((or cornflour))

Place the flour and cornstarch in a mixing bowl and whisk until well combined. Sift the mixture together 4-5 times, then measure out the amount of cake flour called for in your recipe by spooning it into a measuring cup and leveling it off with the back of a knife.

If you don&#039;t have any cake flour on hand, or live in a country where it&#039;s banned (like here in New Zealand!), then this is a great cake flour substitute. You can use it for most recipes that call for cake flour, and my cakes always come out softer and more tender when I use this substitute :)

Cake Flour Substitute

flour (regular, all purpose)

cornstarch (also known as cornflour)

Place your flour in a bowl and remove 2 tablespoons of it.

Add in the cornstarch and mix until well combined (see note 1).
