Easy to make Baby Cookies recipe using a jar of carrot baby food.  These homemade cookies are healthy for the entire family and will help your teething baby feel better!  Perfect way to get rid of all that leftover baby food!

Carrot Baby Cookies Using Baby Food

all purpose flour

cinnamon

brown sugar (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Open baby food jar and pour it into a medium sized bowl.  Add mashed banana and stir until completely smooth.

Add oats, flour, cinnamon and brown sugar (optional) and continue stirring with a spoon.

Place tablespoon sized drops of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet that&#039;s been sprayed with nonstick spray or silicone baking mats.  I like to do this with my hands to form them into little balls.  The dough will feel wet and sticky right now - so don&#039;t be alarmed by this.    Gently press down on each cookie with a fork.

Bake cookies for 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes, during this time they will become more firm.

These will store for 2-3 days in an airtight container, or you can freeze for later use.

How to make carrot baby food by cooking and blending carrots into a smooth and creamy puree. Carrot puree make a great stage 1 starter food for babies.

Peel carrots and chop into chunks. Try to make the carrot chunks around the same size so they will finish cooking around the same time. The smaller the chunks, the faster they will cook.

Fill a pot with about 1 inch of water, add carrots to a steamer basket and place inside of the pot. Bring water to a low boil, cover with lid and steam carrots for 15-20 minutes, or until fork tender. The cook time will depend on the size of your carrots.

Once carrots are tender remove pot from heat and allow carrots to a cool a bit before transferring to a blender or food processor. Puree carrots in the blender or food processor, adding liquid (breast milk, formula or water) as needed to get the desired consistency. If using water, the water leftover from steaming or boiling the carrots works great.

Transfer carrot puree into storage containers and store in the fridge for 3 days or freezer for 1 month.

This is great. Only note is that organic food is grown without pesticides and a lot of the nutrients are in the skin so you can keep them on.

I see the heading " how to reheat or thaw" but I don't see instructions for heating...does the baby food always need to be reheated before consumption?
