You won't believe how Delish.com made these hot dogs. 

Carrot Hot Dogs

carrots,

olive oil

vegetable broth

apple cider vinegar

soy sauce

maple syrup

garlic powder

smoked paprika

Liquid Smoke

hot dog buns

Ketchup,

Mustard,

Add the carrots to a small roasting pan and toss with olive oil. In a small bowl, whisk together broth, vinegar, soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic powder, paprika and liquid smoke. Pour over carrots and cover pan with foil. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425°. Place the foil-covered baking dish in the oven and roast carrots for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and roast for another 20 minutes, until the carrots are just tender enough to stab with a fork.

Place carrots in hot dug buns, serve with ketchup and mustard.

This was surprisingly good. I liked the easy step by step guidance.  We made 8 carrot dogs and served on buns with the fixings.I had two.  I will make it again.  My son a vegetarian had 2 and my husband (a meat eater) ate one and one chicken sandwich.

These Carrot Hot Dogs don&#x27;t just look like the BBQ classic, they actually taste like it too! A smoky, sweet marinade brings carrots to life, turning them into grillable vegan hot dogs!

carrots

vegetable broth (240 mL)

apple cider vinegar (60 mL)

soy sauce (can sub tamari

Dijon mustard (30 g)

tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp liquid smoke

Marinate: Peel carrots and trim off the ends. Combine all remaining ingredients in a large shallow dish, then submerge the carrots in the liquid to marinate. Let sit for 30 minutes, flipping the carrots occasionally if they&#x27;re not completely submerged.

Boil: Transfer carrots and marinade to a large pot. If marinade does not cover the carrots, add water until the carrots are fully submerged. Bring to a boil, cover, and let cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until carrots are cooked through. You should be able to pierce them with a fork, but they should not be so soft that they break easily.

Serve: At this point you can serve the carrots, or you can sear them on a well-greased grill (or grill plate) to char the outsides. Serve on a hot dog bun with your favorite condiments!
