Cherry Cream Cheese Pastry

containers Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

cherries, (frozen)

sugar

lemon juice

water

tbsp corn starch

oz cream cheese, (room temperature)

tsp vanilla extract

½ tbsp milk

Preheat oven to 375°

In a small saucepan over low heat, add frozen cherries, sugar and lemon juice. Stir and cook for approximately 5-6 minutes until hot and bubbly.

In a small bowl, mix water and corn starch together until combined then add to cherry mixture.

Continue stirring until cherry mixture has thicken. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

For The Cherry Filling

In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add sugar, egg yolk, vanilla and lemon juice. Beat for an additional 2 minutes.

For The Cream Cheese Filling

Unroll crescent rolls and separate into the precut triangles.

Place triangles on an ungreased baking sheet, or a round pizza tin, so that the wider end of the crescent is in the center forming the circle with about a five inch opening in the center. The smaller tip of the crescent is on the outside. *When forming the circle, the wider ends of the crescents will overlap each other. 

Spread cream cheese mixture over the wide part of the crescents.

Spoon cherry filling on top of the cream cheese mixture.

Fold the small tip of the crescent over and tuck under the wider part to secure forming the ring.

Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven and let cool.

Making The Pastry Ring

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk together until combined.

Drizzle over pastry ring. Cut and enjoy!

An easy and delicious Cherry Cream Cheese Danish recipe that is sure to please and is super easy to make.

Cherry Cream Cheese Danish

cherries, (rinsed, pits removed, cut in half)

corn starch, (start with one tablespoon)

cream cheese

vanilla

heavy cream

puff pastry sheets, ((2 sheets) room temperature)

Preheat oven to 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

In a small saucepan, add cherries, sugar, lemon juice, water and cornstarch. Stir;

Heat over low heat until sugar has melted and sauce has thickened.

Remove from heat and let cool

In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, about 2 minutes.

Add sugar, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat until well combined.

Unroll puff pastries and on a lightly floured surface, gently roll dough to seal the seams.

Place dough on prepared baking sheet and add ½ of the cream cheese mixture down the center of the pastry leaving 1½ inch free from filling at both ends.

Cut two slits at each end of the pastry about 1 inch long and fold over the top of the filling and secure to prevent mixture from leaking out.Next cut off the top and bottom side pieces at an angle (see photo) and continue to make cuts into the pastry along each side making sure not to cut too close to the filling.

Once cherry filling has cooled, add ½ of the cherry filling on top of the cream cheese. Repeat  steps for the second puff pastry sheet.

Once the ends have been secured over the filling, start folding each piece over each other like a braid and secure.

Brush with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Assembling The Danish

In a small bowl, add powdered sugar, vanilla and heavy cream. Stir until blended.

Once Danish is pulled from the oven and has cooled a bit, drizzle glaze over the top of both pastries, slice and enjoy!

This 4 ingredient cherry danish recipe is super easy to make and absolutely delicious. Its makes the perfect breakfast, snack or dessert.

4 Ingredient Cherry Danish

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

7-8 tbs Cherry Pie Filling

Cream Cheese, softened

tbs Powdered Sugar

Preheat the oven to 375

Open the can of crescent rolls and keep them whole. DO NOT unroll them- keep it in a log shape

Using a sharp knife, slice them into equal rounds about 1/2 inch thick. This should make about 7-8.

Place them down on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Using your fingers, push the center down. Be sure to leave a lip on the outside so the filling stays inside.

Now mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar together. Place about a tablespoon and a half into the center of each crescent roll.

Now add about a tablespoon of cherry pie filling on top of the cream cheese

Bake them for about 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are lightly browned.

serve warm or at room temperature and enjpy.

This cherry almond coffee cake is a great treat for a weekend family vacation or for the holidays.

Cherry Almond Danish

butter,

almond paste

almond extract

puff pastry, connected

cherry pie filling

almonds,

apricot jam (optional)

water (optional)

vanilla extract

Using a food processor, combine butter, sugar and almond paste. Pulse until mixture comes together.

Add in egg whites and almond extract until a smooth paste forms. Mix in the flour until a sticky smooth filling is formed.

Arrange puff pastry sheet on a parchment lined sheet tray and map out the center of the pastry with the back of knife.

To make the braid: make 45 degree cuts 2 inches apart along each side of the filling. Leave a flap of dough on each end of the filling to close the Danish.

Fill the center, spreading almond filling evenly across the pastry, leaving a little a 2 inch border along the flaps without filling.

Spread cherry pie filling over almond filling focusing on the middle of the pastry, so no cherry filling leaks out. (Use mostly cherries from filling, discard gelatin)

Flip both end flaps up and to braid, make overlapping folds alternating one strip at a time over the filling at a 45 degree angle.

Brush the pastry with egg wash (egg yolk and water whisked together). Top the pastry with sliced almonds.

Bake for 22 - 25 minutes or crust is golden brown.

Make the glaze by whisking together all glaze ingredients until a smooth mixture has formed and reserve. Mix apricot jelly with 2 tablespoons of water until jam has thinned out.

Remove Danish from oven &amp; brush with apricot glaze immediately. (Go over twice for extra sheen)

Drizzle or spread glaze over warm Danish. Let cool until the glaze hardens.

Cherry Danish Recipe

(8.8 ounce) frozen puff pastry sheets ((thawed))

cream cheese ((softened))

(21 cherry pie filling

egg egg wash))

Preheat oven to 400℉.Unfold puff pastry sheets and cut each into 6 rectangles. You can achieve this by cutting along the seams and then cross-wise right through the middle.

Prepare 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Divide the rectangle puff pastries between the 2 sheets and place in the refrigerator to allow them to become firm again.

While pastry dough is cooling, use a mixing bowl and an electric mixer to mix together cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Set aside.

Remove pastries from the refrigerator and score around each pastry about 1/2-inch from the border, being careful to not slice all the way through the dough. Then use a fork for pierce holes inside of the scores.This will make it so the outer edges of the puff pastry will puff up and the center will stay flat and keep the filling in.

Place about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each pastry and smooth it out toward the scored edge. Be sure to stay inside the scoring lines.

Add 2 tablespoons of cherry pie filling over top of the cream cheese layer and smooth it over the top, again, staying inside of the inner scoring lines.

In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush around the border of each pastry. Bake in the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes or until the pastries are puffy and golden brown. Remove from oven and allow pastries to cool for 5-10 minutes.

While pastries are cooling, prepare the icing.Combine powdered sugar and milk until sugar is dissolved. Add more powdered sugar for a thicker icing or a little more milk for a thinner icing (only add 1/2 teaspoon at a time of milk).

Drizzle icing over pastries and serve warm.

Hi!  I haven't made this recipe, but I can tell by reading it that it is absolutely Devine.  I will try it with both the puff pastry
and crescent rolls, but I am guessing the puff pastry is going to be the best because it will have the proper texture. And I will also want to try out some of the other flavors.  I don't think you mentioned blueberry, but it would be good too.  I do have a question.  Whenever you post more than one recipe, I find that after I save one, no other recipe will save. Why is only one recipe allowed.  Can you change that?  I'm missing a lot of good recipes because of it as I like to keep them in my computer ao I don't have reams of paper to deal with and organize. I am an avid cook, and my departed husband was an Executive Chef.     Thank you!
