Three-Ingredient Crispy Oven Fried Chicken Tenders

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Pour oil (1/4 cup) onto rimmed baking sheet and spread around so it coats the center- no need to go all the way to the edges. You want it to be a thick coating.

Season the chicken with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Make sure it's evenly coated on the chicken by using your hands to mix it together, or stirring thoroughly with a spoon.

Beat the two eggs well with the 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a shallow bowl.

Put the flour (3/4 cup) in another shallow bowl.

Coat one chicken tender in the egg, then dredge in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, coat again in the egg and dredge again in the flour.

Add the chicken tender to the prepared baking pan, pressing down to coat the bottom in the oil. Then, flip it over, so the top is covered in oil.

Repeat with remaining chicken tenders.

Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Flip each chicken tender, being careful to remove each with a spatula thoroughly so you don't lose any batter. Bake for another 10 minutes.

Season lightly with a little bit more salt and pepper right after they come out of the oven.

Serve with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce, like this five-minute avocado sauce.

Set the oven racks to the middle and lower position. Heat to 425°F (218ºC).

Line a large baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top, spray with nonstick cooking spray, or lightly coat with oil. Set aside.

Remove the white tendon attached to the chicken tenderloin. Use a paring knife to cut it out. Alternatively, hold the end of the tendon with one hand, place the tines of the fork in between the tendon and chicken to hold down the meat, then firmly pull the tendon until it releases. It helps to hold the tendon with some paper towel if it becomes slippery. Transfer chicken to a plate and season both sides with salt and pepper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, and 1 teaspoon salt.

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the breadcrumbs, 1 teaspoon salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.

In another medium bowl, whisk together eggs and olive oil.

Set up a breading station starting on the left with chicken, followed by the flour mixture, egg mixture, and breadcrumbs.

Bread the chicken as follows: Use the left hand to place chicken in the flour, coat well and shake off excess. Use the same hand to dip into the egg mixture, fully coating the chicken. Place in the breadcrumb bowl. Use your right hand to coat and firmly press the breadcrumbs into the chicken, turning over as needed.

Gently shake off any excess crumbs and place the breaded chicken on the baking rack. Repeat with other pieces. You want to make sure that the chicken is coated as much as possible to achieve a crunchy texture. If any excess coating falls on the baking sheet after breading, lift the rack and discard the crumbs. The high temperature may cause those bits to burn if left in the pan.

Bake on the center rack of the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and use your fingers to flip. It’s warm to the touch but not hot. Tongs may cause the coating to flake off.

Bake for another 3 minutes, until the bottom is lightly golden brown and crisp. Remove the chicken from the oven.

Turn the oven setting to broil, once the heating element is on, place the chicken in the lower position. Broil until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes. Make sure to check every minute and keep a close eye on color change.

Flip the chicken over and broil until crisp and the thickest part of the meat reaches at least 165°F (74ºC), about 2 to 3 minutes.

Allow it to cool 5 minutes before serving.

These easy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders come together quickly for a crispy, tasty, family-friendly weeknight meal!

In a small dish, mix together the flour and paprika. Place the chicken strips into a gallon Ziploc bag and add the flour/paprika mixture. Seal the bag and shake to coat the chicken.

In a shallow dish, beat the egg thoroughly and set aside. In a separate shallow dish, stir together the cornflake crumbs, parsley, salt, pepper, cayenne, onion powder and garlic powder until thoroughly mixed.

One at a time, take the flour-coated chicken strips and coat them in the beaten egg whites. Allow any excess egg to drip off and then press the chicken tender into the dish of corn flake crumbs and flip so that both sides are coated in crumbs. Transfer the crumb-coated strips to the basket of your air fryer in a single layer without the tenders touching each other. My air fryer basket fit six tenders comfortably with space around them, so I was able to cook the tenders in two batches of six (12 tenders total).

When you have a batch of chicken tenders positioned correctly in the air fryer basket, lightly mist them with cooking spray. Set the air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 5-6 minutes. Flip the tenders over and continue to cook your tenders for another 5-6 minutes until cooked through.

These Chicken Tenders are crispy, well seasoned, and so simple to make. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauces for an easy dinner that the whole family will love.

Chicken Tenders

Preheat oven to 425° F. Place an oven-safe wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet. (If you do not have an oven-safe wire rack, you can bake the chicken right on the baking sheet. See note below.) Spray the rack or baking sheet with cooking spray.

To prepare the breading on the chicken, you will need 3 wide, shallow bowls, dishes or pie plates. In one dish, place the flour. In the second dish, beat together the eggs and water. Then, to the dish with the beaten eggs, add the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper and mix with a whisk or fork until well combined and no clumps of spices remain. In the third dish, place the panko bread crumbs.

Coat the chicken first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the panko. Place chicken on the prepared baking rack/sheet.

Bake for 16-18 minutes, or until cooked through to at least 165° F and lightly browned. If desired, you can turn on the broiler during the last few minutes of cooking to help crisp the coating on the chicken even more. Serve with dipping sauces, as desired.

Meanwhile, prepare breading station with three large mixing bowls: one bowl with bread crumbs, oregano, garlic powder, and Parmesan mixed with a fork; another with eggs and 1 tablespoon water, beaten; and the third with flour. Coat each piece of chicken in flour and shake off excess, then dip into egg and coat in bread crumb mixture. Repeat steps for remaining chicken and set aside on a plate.

Slice boneless, skinless chicken breasts into strips.

Place the flour and half of the seasoning in one bowl and mix well. Whisk the eggs into another bowl. Finally, mix the panko breadcrumbs with the remaining spices in another bowl.

Coat the chicken first in the flour, then in the egg and finally in the breadcrumbs. 

Place the chicken in the air fryer basket. Drizzle or spray with olive oil (optional).

Set the temperature to 200ºC/390ºF and cook for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, turn the chicken fingers over and cook for another 3-5 minutes until crisp and golden. If you don&#39;t have an Air fryer, these chicken fingers can be baked at 220ºC until crisp and golden or fried in vegetable oil.

Set cooling racks over a baking sheet so that you can transfer the chicken onto the racks and allow excess oil to drip from the bottom. The air flow on all sides ensures the chicken stays crispy.

Cut the chicken breast into strips that are about ¾ inch thick and 5 inches long. Pat completely dry. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper on each side. (Use about 1/4-1/2 teaspoon coarse or kosher salt per pound of chicken)

Optional Step #1: Dry brine the seasoned chicken breast by letting it sit uncovered in the fridge for 4 hours on the bottom shelf. This keeps it dry on the outside which allows the breading to stick to it well. It also allows the salt to penetrate through the chicken which allows the inside to become juicy, tender, and flavorful.

Optional Step #2: If possible, remove the chicken from the fridge 20 minutes before frying for even cooking throughout.

Combine the breading ingredients and set aside.

Crack egg whites into a small bowl, save the egg yolks for another dish if desired.

Beat the egg whites until fluffy and frothy.

Place saran wrap over the chicken and use the rough side of a meat mallet to pound the meat and create texture on the outside, this allows the breading to work it&#39;s way into the crevices and creates grip to hold on to the breading.

Dip each piece of chicken into the egg whites, then coat it generously in the breading mix, allow every cook and cranny to get thoroughly coated.

Add oil to a dutch oven, fill it no more than halfway. Heat to 350-375 degrees. (You can also use a deep fryer.)

Fry the chicken tenders in batches, each side will take about 4 minutes to sufficiently brown. Remove and transfer to cooling racks.

PRO TIP: Transfer cooling racks to a 200° oven to keep the chicken warm while you fry the remaining batches.

Ensure the internal temperature has reached 165° prior to serving.
