This quick chicken sausage pasta is a tasty recipe for easy comfort food and a healthy dinner. Made with your favorite chicken sausage, pasta, spinach, mushrooms, sauce, and creamy goat cheese to finish it off. Ready in 25 minutes from start to finish for a well-balanced meal.

Chicken Sausage Pasta

pasta ((I used rigatoni))

sausages

mushrooms ((140 gram))

spinach, roughly chopped ((120 grams))

marinara sauce ((or more if you want it saucier))

goat cheese ((2 ounces))

salt and pepper,

Cook pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to the instructions. Once al dente, drain and set aside to cool. When draining, reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water.

Cook the chicken sausage. When the water is about to boil, you’ll start cooking your chicken and veggies. Add oil to a large skillet over medium heat and let it get hot. Then add sliced chicken sausage and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned on one side (make sure not to move in the pan when cooking). Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Cook the veggies. In the same pan, add mushrooms and saute for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add chopped spinach and saute for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Turn down the heat to low.

Assemble. Add your marinara sauce and cooked pasta to the pan and stir to combine. Then add in your goat cheese, and little pasta water (about 2 tablespoons worth), and salt and pepper, and mix well to combine. Let warm through, about 1 minute. If needed, add more pasta water if you want a thinner sauce.

Pasta, chicken sausage and peas all coated in a creamy, spicy sauce is what this Italian Chicken Sausage Pasta is all about! The best part is that it&#039;s ready in under 25 minutes, and it&#039;s still delicious the next day. 

Italian Chicken Sausage Pasta

chicken sausage (Italian

butter

garlic (minced)

marinara sauce (favorite kind)

milk (any kind)

heavy cream

peas

tsp red pepper flakes (or more)

salt and pepper

parmesan (optional)

Cook

Cook pasta in a saucepan as you normally would.

In a separate large skillet or dutch oven, cook the chicken sausage with the olive oil over medium heat.

Next, add the butter and garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Then, reduce heat to medium-low and add the marinara sauce, milk, cream, peas, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper; stir to combine.

Simmer

Bring mixture to a low simmer and simmer for 2-3 minute or until peas are cooked. Remove from heat, then add parmesan cheese.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. Top with more parmesan cheese and enjoy!

Loved this recipe. I used aidells smoked chicken sausage with garlic and artichoke. Topped with grana padano cheese. Delicious.

I made this recipe yesterday and thought it was delicious! The only change I made was to cut back on the amount of peas to only 1 cup, and add about 1 cup of small cooked broccoli florets. Will definitely make this again!

The ratios in this recipe are off.  I used 4 chicken sausage and 1 1/2 cups of peas. There were way too many peas and way too much sauce in relation to pasta and sausage. The flavor was good, but I would bump the recipe up with more vegetables, maybe zucchini, broccoli and spinach.

Chicken Sausage &amp; Pasta Skillet is an easy gluten free 15 minute dinner idea. Penne Pasta is tossed with a white wine and Parmesan cream sauce along with chicken apple sausage and shallots for a hearty dinner bursting with rich flavors.

Chicken Sausage & Pasta Skillet

Gluten Free penne pasta

chicken broth

Add the pasta to a large pot of boiling salted water and cook according to the directions.

Meanwhile in a large skillet over medium high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the chicken sausage for 4-5 minutes. Add the shallots to the pan and cook for an additional 3 minutes until browned.

Deglaze the pan with white wine and reduce until most of the wine is evaporated. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream and salt and pepper to the pan and bring to a simmer.

Drain and toss the pasta with the sauce and let the pasta cook within the sauce for a minute. Remove the skillet from the heat and fold in the cheese and parsley. Serve immediately.

I haven’t cooked much my life but in the past few years have really tried to learn a lot in the kitchen. I buy chicken apple sausage for my family and never know what to do with it and I end up making the same recipe that my husband is sick of. So I decided to Google something new and this recipe is nothing shy of totally amazing. The only thing I changed was I did not use gluten-free pasta and I only used a quarter cup of wine. I also only used about 12 oz of pasta. Definitely a dish you can play around with!

I came across this recipe wanting to use our Costco Chicken and Apple sausages and it was delicious! Normally I would wait for cooler weather to make something like this was but it was pretty easy and a nice comfort food after a busy week.
