Chocolate Peppermint Dump Cake

15.25 oz (box) chocolate cake mix

3.9 oz (box) instant chocolate pudding

milk

oz (bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Andes baking chips (or other mint baking chip) reserve some

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt 1/2 cup of butter and pour it into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.

Evenly sprinkle dry cake mix over the butter.

Sprinkle dry pudding mix over the cake mix.

Add milk.

With a fork, try to spread out the milk so that the dry cake mix and pudding are all a little bit moistened. You don't need to fully mix it, but rake the fork through so all the dry ingredients get wet.

Top with chocolate chips, then mint baking chips.

Lay the butter pats evenly across the top.

Bake for about 50-60 minutes.

Serve warm.

Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream plus extra peppermint baking chips as a garnish.

Believe it or not, this gooey and moist chocolate dump cake needs just five ingredients and ten minutes of prep. Yet somehow, it's addictively chocolatey.

I tried lemon cake mix and lemon pudding (obviously left out the cocoa) and used white chocolate chips. I thought about a spice cake mix with cheesecake pudding and use caramel bits but I haven’t tried that one yet.

My husband went crazy over this cake! He ate a whole row in one sitting and asked if we had any vanilla ice cream! I love that it doesn't take so many eggs since they are so expensive now!

made this and it was delicious!! super easy and tasty. I added in coconut flakes and chocolate chips in the batter, in addition to chocolate chips on top. The amount of milk was a little too much, I used 1.75ish cups .
Want to make it again and try different things, maybe nuts instead of coconut.
thank you!

This cake is out of this world. Thank you for sharing. You posted a brownie recipe using powdered milk. What was the brand of milk you recommended?

Thank you , Eileen

I'm not one for leaving comments, but this was amazing. I am not one for overly sweet cakes or cakes with frosting. This is what I have been looking for. Perfect balance of sweet and no frosting needed. Thank you.
