Homemade Chocolate Sauce is incredibly easy to make and rivals anything you&#039;ll buy at the store. Whip up a batch in only 5 minutes and then drizzle it on all your favorite desserts!

Homemade Chocolate Sauce

cocoa powder

sugar

salt

water

vanilla

In a cold saucepan, whisk together the cocoa and the sugar until all lumps are removed. Add the salt and the water and bring to a boil over medium-medium high heat. 

Reduce to a gentle simmer; stirring constantly. Simmer for about 30 seconds and then remove from heat. Let cool and then add in the vanilla.

Pour into a glass jar and allow to cool. {The chocolate sauce will be very thin when it finishes boiling, but it will thicken quite a bit as it cools.}

Refrigerate until needed.

Homemade Chocolate Sauce Recipe

heavy cream

TBS salted butter

honey

brown sugar

sea salt

oz semisweet chocolate ((about ⅔ cup chocolate chips))

tsp vanilla extract

In a small saucepan, mix together heavy cream, butter, cocoa powder, honey, brown sugar and sea salt.

Warm the mixture over medium heat until the butter is melted and it just beings to bubble around the edges, whisking often.

Turn the heat to low and simmer on low for about 5 minutes.

Then, turn off the heat but leave the saucepan on the warm burner. Add the chocolate and whisk until smooth.

Then, remove from heat and whisk in vanilla.

Let cool slightly before serving over ice cream, brownies, etc.

Store in a glass jar (1 quart) in the refrigerator. Warm slightly before serving.

Mixture thickens significantly when cooled

Heat

After 2 minutes, add in milk. Bring to a simmer.

Stir

Add in chocolate chips, and remove from heat. Stir until chocolate chips are completely incorporated.

Add vanilla extract, and stir until smooth.

Serve

Serve warm or cold. Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks (or freeze for a month or so).
