Start you mornings with a dessert-flavored breakfast. Churro Waffles are delicious fluffy waffles full of cinnamon sugar, served with some delicious chocolate!

Churro Waffles

Buttermilk (See Notes)

Vegetable Oil

Eggs

Sugar

Cups All Purpose Flour

tsp Baking Soda

tsp Baking Powder

Butter (melted)

tbsp Ground Cinnamon

oz Chocolate (I used dark chopped (or 4 oz chocolate chips))

Heavy Cream

Preheat the waffle iron.

Mix buttermilk, vegetable oil and eggs in a large bowl. Add sugar, flour, baking soda and baking powder to the mixture. Mix until combined but don't over mix.

Pour 1/4 - 1/3 cup of the batter in the waffle iron and cook for 3-4 minutes, until it starts steaming and the steam is half gone.

Mix sugar and cinnamon, set aside.

Once the waffles are cooked, brush them with melted butter on both sides and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.

Churro Cover:

Heat heavy cream in a small sauce pan until just starts to simmer. Turn the heat off,  add chopped chocolate and stir until melted and combined.

Serve churro waffles with chocolate sauce.

white flour

baking powder

white sugar

milk

butter

vanilla extract

cinnamon

Turn your waffle iron on to 'high' and allow it to heat up

Combine the flour, baking powder, and sugar in a bowl and mix together. Add the eggs and beat until you have a stiff and smooth paste. Once smooth, add the milk and melted butter. Beat until looser and smooth.

Fold in the vanilla and cinnamon and set aside while you make the topping.

In a wide bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Place next to your waffle iron

Working methodically, drop enough batter on your waffle iron to make a decent-sized waffle. Keep an eye on it and as it turns golden, flip it out and toss it into your topping. Remove with a pair of tongs, and repeat until the batter is used up.

Serve immediately and enjoy.
