Classic snowball

Fill a glass with ice and if using, add up to 15ml of lime juice or lime cordial (or to your taste). Pour the advocaat and lemonade over the ice and stir gently until the outside of the glass feels cold.

Garnish with the maraschino cherry.

This Raspberry Lime Basil Gin Cocktail is bursting with so much flavor from all the natural and fresh ingredients, simple syrup isn't even needed!

Raspberry Lime Basil Gin Cocktail

Place raspberries and basil in cocktail shaker and lightly muddle together. Add gin, fresh lime juice, and ice to shaker and shake for 10-15 seconds.

Pour mixed drink in a glass and top with sparkling water or club soda. Garnish with additional limes slices and fresh basil leaves.

This classic drink belongs to the sour category of cocktails and can be made with or without egg white. I prefer it with egg white, for a silky texture and a more balanced, well-rounded drink.

This sweet version of the Manhattan cocktail is much prefered by us and many others. We chose bourbon but you could always up to for a Rye to make this perfect after dinner drink.

Manhattan

60 ml Bourbon Whiskey

ml Sweet Vermouth

Boker Bitters

Fill your mixing glass with ice to the top and stir to bring the mixing vessel to a good temperature.

Discard any water that has been created in the mixing vessel and then add your whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters.

Stir for up to 45 seconds to reach optimum dilution

Using your julep strainer to hold the ice in place. strain into a chilled glass

garnish with a maraschino cherry and serve!

The negroni, when made right, is one of the best aperitifs. The key to this classic Italian cocktail is not to over-dilute it, so a quick stir is more than enough to mix the ingredients together.

What makes the Aperol Negroni such a nice variation on a traditional negroni is how the bright flavors from the Aperol work with the dry vermouth to create a light, refreshing negroni, compared to the traditional combination of Campari and sweet vermouth that use a heavy hand to wake up your taste buds.

In a large glass add the gin, Aperol, and dry vermouth.  Stir the drink for a long time, thinking about the ones that got away.

Strain into an old-fashioned glass and serve with a large chunk of ice and an orange twist.

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and fill it 3/4 with ice.

Put the lime wedges in a large jug with the sugar, then use a muddler or the end of a rolling pin to break them down. Release as much juice from the wedges as possible, and let it mix with the sugar to create a syrup – you can also do this with a large pestle and mortar. Discard the lime peel.

Divide the syrup and cachaça between four glasses, then top with the crushed ice. Serve garnished with lime wedges, if you like.
