oz cream cheese

sour cream

garlic powder

onion powder

¼ tsp black pepper – optional

green onion

cheddar cheese

parsley

pecans

tbsp ranch powdered seasoning

½ cup chopped green onion (divided ¼ cup + ¼ cup)

½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided 2 cups + ½ cup)

bacon (divided 8 slices + 8 slices)

Next, add the sour cream and whip again. 

Now add the cheddar cheese, scallions, and spices and whip one last time.

Best Cream Cheese Ball Recipe

(8 oz) Packages of Cream Cheese (room temp)

& ½ Cups Grated Cheddar Cheese (medium or mild)

(1.5 oz) Packet of Ranch Dressing Mix (dry)

(6.5 oz) Can Sliced Olives (drained)

Tablespoon Minced Garlic

½ Medium Onion (finely chopped)

Chopped Pecans

Step 1

Add all ingredients, minus the nuts, into a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Mix until well incorporated, I like to use a Potato Masher to mix this together, and it does a great job to simplify the process without overmixing.

Step 3

Separate mixture into three equal-sized balls using your hands (spray hands with cooking spray beforehand).

Step 4

Roll in chopped nuts, I use pecans. Cover tightly in plastic wrap until ready to serve.

Step 5

To serve, I like to surround it with Ritz crackers on a fancy serving platter, but it’s good with many different kinds of crackers, chips, sliced bread, or even as part of your charcuterie board.

Step 6

Between serving, keep tightly covered and refrigerated.

Spicy Jalapeño Cheese Ball

brick-style cream cheese (very well softened (lite is okay))

red bell pepper

jalapeño pepper

garlic

chives

In a large bowl, add all ingredients except nuts, and stir to combine or use a handheld electric mixer and beat on low speed to combine. Make sure cream cheese is very well softened before beginning or it will be unnecessarily difficult to combine the ingredients.

Using a spatula (or your hands), pat mixture into a ball inside bowl; it’s okay if it’s not perfectly round.

Turn ball out onto a large piece of plasticwrap and wrap it up. Gently pat it into a nice smooth ball, and place ball inside a ziptop bag to prevent fridge smells.

Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or overnight, to chill and firm up.

Prior to serving, combine the walnuts and almonds in a medium bowl and gently roll the ball in nuts until it’s completely covered.

This is the MOST requested cheeseball I make.  Have been making for four years and its requested by everyone for a family get-together.  My 14 year old grand-daughter is now making them for her family get-togethers.  Perfect, easy to make, easy to adjust the ingredients and never any left-overs.

I realize I’m late to the party but just had to add that this is a great basic recipe to play around with! I sometimes make it with crumbled bacon added (Jalapeno Popper!), or diced bacon, pimiento and dry ranch dip mix added (Bacon Ranch). Also really good with other veggies added to change things up. People, cheese balls are the bomb and soooo easy and yummy! (We also make as a spreadable dip by using 1/3 less fat or spreadable cream cheese and omitting nut coating.) Yummy recipe!
