Into a medium size pot add water and salt, bring to a boil, then stir in rolled oats.

Simmer rolled oats for 5 minutes, then turn off heat and stand for 3 minutes until the water has absorbed. Stir occasionally to ensure the oats don&#8217;t stick and turnouts out creamy!

Mix the oats, salt and 1 cup milk in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave on high heat for 1 - 1/2 minutes or until the milk is absorbed and the oats are thickened to your liking. 

Stir the additional milk into the oats until creamy.

Top the oats with the cherries, almonds and optional toppings.

How to Make the BEST Oatmeal

whole rolled oats

organic Greek yogurt, sub plant-based yogurt + 1 scoop pea protein

almond milk

tsp vanilla extract

cinnamon

tsp sea salt

tsp maple syrup, or stevia

Desired toppings

In a small saucepan, heat almond milk with vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sea salt on medium heat.

Once warm, add in oats and sweetener, stir, and cover, reducing heat to simmer.

Let cook for 10 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed.

Once done, remove from heat and in the pot, stir in yogurt.

Pour oatmeal into bowl and top with desired toppings!

I did not think I was an oatmeal person but this recipe has completely changed my mind! I have enjoyed my breakfast so much the last few days.
