Extra Crispy Air Fryer Drumsticks (Paleo, Whole30, Keto) - Oven Method Included

tbsp baking powder (gluten free)

paprika

onion powder

garlic powder

tsp sea salt

tsp black pepper

Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes, if needed.

Place the drumsticks in a large bowl and toss with avocado oil.

Combine baking powder and the spice in a separate bowl.

Sprinkle the chicken with the spice mixture and toss together until evenly coated.

Cook in the air fryer in a single layer for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

The internal temperature of the drumsticks should have reached 165 degrees F.  If not, cook for longer until they do.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees, and coat the chicken with spices the same way as the air fryer method.

Place the drumsticks in single layer on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Oven Method

Extra Crispy Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Tbsp BAKING POWDER (do not use baking soda!!!)

tsp kosher salt (or

tsp black pepper (or to taste)

favorite BBQ sauce

Preheat oven to 450F.

Pat chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels really well and place in a large bowl. Sprinkle the baking powder all over the drumsticks and toss well to ensure even coverage.

Line a large (15" x 21" is ideal) baking sheet with aluminum foil then parchment paper. I use foil strictly to avoid cleaning the baking sheet after baking but you may have a different view on this.

Lay the drumsticks on the baking sheet, spacing them out generously, about 1-2 inches apart.

Place the baking sheet in the oven. Set the oven to 450F convection. Bake the chicken drumsticks for 30-35 minutes, until they are nicely browned and crisp. Baking time may be different for you as different ovens bake differently. Start checking at 25 minutes.

Remove the drumsticks from the oven, place in a large bowl, sprinkle with salt and pepper, add the Buffalo sauce, toss well and serve immediately while they are hot.

BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

tomato sauce

soy sauce

Tablespoons white vinegar

mustard

chicken drumsticks (, washed and pat dry)

Add all ingredients (besides the chicken) to a large pot over medium-high heat.

Stir well to combine. Bring mixture to a gentle boil, then add the raw chicken drumsticks.

Turn heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for about 20-30 minutes or until chicken is just cooked through. Remove chicken to a plate and ladle some of the sauce into a cup.

Prepare your grill by oiling it well and bringing it to HIGH heat.

Once grill is hot, add chicken drumsticks. (The chicken is cooked at this point, you&#x27;re just wanting to char the skin a bit). Lather some of the extra BBQ Sauce on the chicken as you grill it, and rotate the chicken drumsticks as each side becomes lightly charred.  If your grill is hot enough, this should only take a few minutes!
