Here I&#039;ll show you the secrets to getting extra crispy chicken tenders in the oven. Easy to make and bursting with flavour, these breaded chicken tenders are the ultimate finger food! Makes approx 16 tenders (depending on size) so serving is approx 4 people.

Extra Crispy Baked Chicken Tenders

Flour

Panko Breadcrumbs (see notes)

Butter

Egg, beaten

Milk

Salt

tsp each: Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Black Pepper

Cayenne Pepper,

EXTRA Crispy Baked Chicken Tenders

Melt 1 heaped tbsp butter into a frying pan over medium heat and stir in 1.25cups/75g Panko breadcrumbs. Continue frying for 5 or so mins until the breadcrumbs turn light golden. Remove from heat.

Pre heat oven to 200c/390f.

In a small bowl combine 1 tsp paprika and salt, 1/4 tsp onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (or to taste).

Line up 3 large bowls. In the first bowl combine 1/3cup/70g flour with 1 tsp of your spice mix. In the second combine 1 beaten egg with 2 tbsp milk. In the third combine breadcrumbs with 1oz/30g parmesan and the rest of your spice mix.

One by one dip your tenders first into the flour, then into the egg and finally into the breadcrumbs, ensuring you fully coat at each stage (especially the last).

Space out (important so they don&#x27;t turn mushy) on a baking tray (preferably elevated on a wire rack if you have one), spray with oil then pop in the oven for 20mins or until golden, crispy and piping hot through the centre. If at all you notice them starting to char at all, turn down the heat.

Place on a cooling rack for a few mins to allow all the steam to escape and crisp up. Serve with your favourite dip!

1.3lb / 600g Chicken Tenders OR Chicken Breast, sliced into strips & at room temp (see notes)
1/3 cup / 70g Flour
1 1/4 cups / 75g Panko Breadcrumbs (see notes)

These Oven Baked Chicken Tenders are juicy and packed with flavor. Dipped in yogurt and coated with a deliciously seasoned Panko breading, these crispy chicken tenders have an irresistible crunch! The perfect easy dinner recipe.

Oven Baked Chicken Tenders

breadcrumbs (keto pork panko crumbs work too)

egg, (lightly beaten)

yogurt

dijon mustard

garlic powder

salt

pepper

chicken tenderloins

oil spray

Preheat oven to 400˚F

Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper and set aside.

Place panko crumbs in a bowl.

In a bowl combine lightly beaten egg, yogurt, dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and fresh ground pepper; whisk with a fork until thoroughly combined. 

Add chicken tenders (working with one chicken tender at a time), into the egg batter and toss to coat. 

Pick up chicken and place it into the panko bowl.  

Sprinkle chicken tenders with breadcrumbs, then press down to adhere.

Transfer to prepared baking sheet; repeat with remaining chicken.  

Spray chicken tenders with oil spray.

Bake for 15 minutes; check for doneness with an instant read thermometer - chicken is baked when thermometer registers at 165˚F. Don’t overcook.   

Remove from oven and serve immediately, with honey mustard sauce.

Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Season chicken tenders with salt and pepper on both sides.

In a shallow dish combine flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika and onion powder.

In another shallow dish combine panko and chives.

Dredge chicken tenders in flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Next, dip tenders in beaten eggs. Shake off any excess.

Finally dredge tenders in panko mixture, pressing the tenders into the panko mixture on both sides to ensure the tenders are fully covered in breadcrumbs.

Generously spray both sides of each tender with cooking spray and season with salt and pepper.

Preheat air fryer to 375˚F and spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.

Add 4 to 5 chicken tenders to air fryer (depending on air fryer basket size) and air fry for 5 minutes. Flip each tender and continue to air fry for an additional 5 minutes or until tenders have cooked through and are golden brown on the outside.

Remove tenders from air fryer basket and repeat step 9 with remaining chicken tenders.

Serve chicken tenders with dipping sauces of choice.

This easy recipe for extra Crispy Pan-fried Chicken Tenders comes together in 30 minutes or less and uses less oil than traditional recipes for chicken strips. These fried chicken tenders are just as crunchy and juicy as deep-fried chicken, and all the ingredients are pantry staples.

Crispy Pan-Fried Chicken Tenders

all purpose flour

salt ((plus more for sprinkling))

paprika

eggs

canola or vegetable oil ((for frying))

Mix together flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika in a shallow dish.

Beat two eggs in a second shallow dish.

Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Coat each chicken strip in flour, then dip into the egg, let the excess drip off and dip back into the flour. Place the coated chicken strips on a plate.

Heat oil on medium until hot and glistening. You need just enough oil to reach half the height of the tenders.

Once the oil is hot, add the tenders. Cook 4-5 minutes or until golden brown, flip and cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

Transfer the chicken tenders to a paper-towel lined plate and sprinkle with salt to taste.

Serve with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce or your favorite dip or sauce, if desired.
