This Crock Pot Old Fashioned Meatloaf recipe is Momma's recipe adapted for a crock pot!

Crock Pot Old Fashioned Meatloaf

beef

oats or cracker crumbs

onion onions (diced)

salt

pepper

ketchup (plus extra for topping)

Mix together all of your ingredients in a bowl

Spray your crock pot with cooking spray

Press your ground beef mixture into your crock pot and make a groove down the middle

Top with as little or much ketchup as you desire

Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours

Crockpot Old Fashioned Meatloaf

Hearty, easy and delicious, The Best Crock Pot Meatloaf is a true comfort meal that you cook low and slow with the perfect sweet and tangy glaze. A truly delicious family meal.

The Best Crock Pot Meatloaf

onion

milk

eggs (lightly beaten)

Tablespoons light brown sugar (packed)

ketchup

Tablespoon bbq sauce

Worcestershire sauce

garlic powder

black pepper

breadcrumbs

beef ((85/15))

bbq sauce

brown sugar (packed)

parsley

Line the crock pot with a large piece of heavy-duty foil, spray with cooking spray, and set aside.

In a large bowl add the grated onion, milk, eggs, brown sugar, ketchup, bbq sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Whisk this mixture until fully combined.

Add in the breadcrumbs. Stir in the breadcrumbs until mixed well.

Next, add the ground beef.

Using your hands, mix everything together until well combined but do not overmix.

Add the mixture to the aluminum foil in the slow cooker, and form it into a long oval shape, set aside.

In a small bowl add the ketchup, bbq sauce, and brown sugar. Whisk this mixture together to make the glaze.

Brush half of the glaze on top of the meatloaf. Cook on low for 6 hours or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F.

Take the meatloaf out of the crockpot using the foil to help lift it out. Place on a sheet tray and brush the remaining glaze on top.

Broil until the glaze is bubbly and starts to brown slightly. Serve with optional parsley garnish.

How to make: THE BEST CROCK POT MEATLOAF

This Crockpot Meatloaf is a great way to enjoy classic comfort food, with less stress, and without tying up your oven.

Crockpot Meatloaf

yellow onion (finely minced, divided)

each) box stuffing mix (I

eggs

ketchup glaze (see below)

brown sugar

apple cider vinegar

In a small mixing bowl, mix all brown sugar ketchup glaze ingredients (reserving the rest of the minced onion for the meatloaf itself), stirring or whisking to combine well. Set aside.

Tear off a large strip of aluminum foil (heavy duty works well), and press it into the bottom and up two of the sides of a 6 quart or larger slow cooker.  Spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray, then set aside.

Add ground beef, remaining minced onion (from step 1), stuffing mix, milk, eggs, 2 tablespoons glaze, salt and pepper.  Use your hands to mix until just combined (being careful not to over mix).

Shape into an oval-like shape and place into the foil lined crockpot.  Top with ½ cup of the glaze, cover, and cook on LOW for 6 hours.

When finished cooking, carefully lift out the meatloaf, using the foil overhang, and place on a baking sheet.  Top with ⅔ cup of the glaze and broil until glaze is sticky and bubbly.

Serve sliced, with remaining glaze sauce served on the side for drizzling.

This slow cooker meatloaf is one of the best meatloaves I have ever made or tasted!  Husband &amp; family also loved every bite &amp; decided we need this every week.  THANK YOU for this recipe!

Thank you for posting! I made this yesterday using your basic recipe but changed a bit, so I thought I'd comment for others to try.
I only used 1/2 cup milk but added a third egg. I also added 2 cloves garlic, 2 stalks celery and a can of sliced mushrooms, all diced small. It fit perfectly into a 9x9" glass pan in my counter convection oven. Halfway through I tipped off some of the grease accumulating on the sides. I let it cool, then cut and froze half. You could halve the recipe if you add in some veg and it would fit nicely in a loaf pan.
I could only find a chicken Stove Top box - not much flavour, so next time I'll try a different one.

Made as directed, except I swapped out the apple cider vinegar for balsamic and mixed in some red pepper flakes., then I put the loaf in my 6 qt. crockpot and cooked on Low for 6 hours. The last time I made a loaf in the oven, it splattered so much I was forced to clean it afterwards. And bachelors hate to clean! Two thumbs UP!

I'm definitely making this again. I had dental work and need soft food and remember how amazing this was. I had bbq sauce and used it instead of chili sauce. Well letting the flavors soak in and being soft are what I need, something that's also really yummy, and this fits the bill. Can't wait to do it again. Hubby loved it so he won't mind.

I made this tonight in the oven and holy cow!!! What a winner! I have never enjoyed meatloaf with ketchup on top until tonight. This will forever be my go-to meatloaf! Oh I didn’t have stuffing mix so I just used the equivalent of seasoned bread crumbs. Delicious!

Maybe you could mix up the meatloaf and divide it into two, and freeze one for later (either before or after cooking). I know how difficult it is cooking for one person! You could also just half the amounts. I saw another recipe online for a smaller recipe, using 1/2 lb of meat and it still said to cook 5 and 1/2 hours, so I'd think the time would be about the same if you just halved this recipe and used 1 lb of meat. (Four sevings isn't so much to contend with and then you could freeze some of those leftovers in serving sizes.)
