Instant Pot Applesauce

apples apples

Honeycrisp apples (, peeled, cored and roughly chopped)

water

lemon juice ((from about 1/2 a lemon))

cinnamon

Peel and core apples. I use a johhny apple peeler to do all three steps at once (peel, spice and core).

Add water, lemon juice and cinnamon to instant pot and stir to combine. Add apples and toss to mix.

Secure lid and cook on manual (high pressure) for 8 minutes. Do a controlled quick release or allow the pressure to naturally release.

Mash the apple mixture a few times with a potato masher, if desired. (If you like a smoother texture you could pulse it in the blender.)&nbsp;

Transfer contents to a bowl and allow to cool completely. Stir in more cinnamon, if desired, to taste.&nbsp;

Enjoy warm or cold. Store in the fridge for up to 7-10 days.

Crockpot Cinnamon Applesauce Recipe

apples, peeled, cored and sliced ((about 6 medium apples/I use Gala))

Place the peeled, sliced apples into the bowl of your crockpot. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the apples and mix well. Pour the water into the crockpot and place the lid on top. Cook over high heat for four hours.

When cooking time is up, remove the lid and mix the apples using a wire whisk, stirring until smooth, or until desired consistency is reached. This applesauce tastes delicious warm!&nbsp;

To store, allow the applesauce to cool completely then place in a sealed container in the fridge. Enjoy!&nbsp;

Crockpot Cinnamon Applesauce

This crockpot applesauce could not be more easy or delicious! Made with the peels and naturally sweetened with honey (NO sugar!), it&#39;s extra nutritious.

Crockpot Applesauce

apples

honey (plus additional to taste)

pumpkin pie spice*

lemon (divided)

Peel

Core the apples and cut into 1 ½-inch chunks. Leave the peels on or peel the apples if you’d like a lighter-colored sauce or are using an apple with a firmer skin like Granny Smith (see blog post above for more details). Place the apples into a 6-quart or larger slow cooker.

Add the honey, cinnamon stick, and pumpkin pie spice. With a vegetable peeler, peel off a small strip of lemon peel (be careful not to get too much of the white pith, which is bitter). Add the peel to the slow cooker.  Save the rest of the lemon for another use.

Cook

Cover the crock pot, and cook on LOW for 6 hours or on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until the apples completely break down. Stir the apples occasionally while the sauce cooks.

Blend

Remove the cinnamon stick and lemon peel. Use an immersion blender to blend the sauce until smooth (or run the sauce through a food mill, which will remove some of the skins, or purée the applesauce in a blender in batches, being careful as hot liquids will splatter). Taste, and add additional honey if you’d like a sweeter sauce. Let cool, and enjoy!

Slow Cooker Applesauce is quick &amp; easy to make at home, with no added sugar required. All you need is a few simple ingredients and it tastes better than any store-bought version!

Slow Cooker Applesauce (No Added Sugar)

Prepare the apples by peeling them and removing their cores, stems, and seeds. (Use an apple corer &amp; divider to save time after peeling.) Cut them into 1-inch pieces to promote even cooking. Note: You can skip peeling the apples if you plan to puree them in the blender later.

Place the cut apples, water, and ground cinnamon in the bowl of your slow cooker. Cover with the lid and set the machine to cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. Stir halfway through the cooking time, if possible.

When the apples are done cooking, they should be very soft and tender, and easily pierced with a fork. Use a potato masher to mash the apples until they are relatively smooth, with a lightly chunky texture. For a smoother consistency, use an immersion blender directly in the slow cooker to blend until smooth.

Let the applesauce cool, then transfer to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 1 week. You can also freeze applesauce for up to 3 months, if you&#39;d like to make a larger batch.

With just a few basic ingredients and fresh apples, your crock pot can do the rest of the work of making applesauce!

Easy Crockpot Applesauce

apples ((about 4 pounds))

lemon juice

Peel the apples using a paring knife or vegetable peeler.

Dice the apples into even 1-1½-inch chunks.

Place into the crock pot.

Stir in the lemon juice, cinnamon, and water. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 yo 7 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, or until apples are very soft.

Mash with a potato masher for a chunky applesauce. Or blend with an immersion blender for a smoother sauce. Let cool and store in mason jars or storage containers.

I made this today and it is so good! I only used 4 apples, accidentally added some extra lemon juice, and then just poured off most of the liquid before blending because I was afraid it’d be too runny, and it was so good! I saved a few of the apples before blending to be a delicious stewed apple topping, and as an added bonus, the liquid I poured off tastes exactly like apple cider! Thank you so much!
