Tailgating season is upon us and what better way to celebrate than with these delicious, filling, BBQ Beef Brisket tacos? These easy, delicious, and handheld tacos are just what your tailgate needs! 

BBQ Beef Brisket Tacos Recipe

½ pound Beef Brisket

bbq sauce (divided)

water

salsa verde

tortillas (flour or white corn)

brown sugar

smoked paprika

garlic powder

onion powder

salt

black pepper

chili powder

unprepared coleslaw

cilantro

honey

juice of 1 lime (about 1 tablespoon)

salt and pepper (to taste)

Stir together seasoning rub. Rub all over Brisket.

Set pressure cooker to SEAR (see note for alternate cooking methods). Drizzle oil into instant pot. Brown Brisket on all sides (about 3-4 minutes on each side). Remove from pot.

Add 1 cup bbq sauce and water to pressure cooker, return Brisket to the pot. Cover and turn the vent to the SEALED position. Set to PRESSURE COOK (high) or MANUAL for 45 minutes. (Prepare slaw while Brisket is cooking)

Turn valve to VENT position. Once float valve drops, remove lid. Transfer Brisket to a cutting board, use a sharp knife to chop brisket into 1-inch chunks.

Prepare the Brisket

Toss together slaw and cilantro. Stir together mayo, honey, lime juice, and salt and pepper. Toss dressing and slaw. Taste, add salt and pepper if needed, cover and chill until ready to use.

Fill tortillas with Brisket, top with slaw, additional bbq sauce, and salsa verde. Serve and enjoy!

This Slow Cooker Brisket recipe is made by searing seasoned brisket, placing it over onions in a slow cooker with broth and barbecue sauce, then cooking low and slow until tender.

Slow Cooker Brisket

Worcestershire sauce

barbecue sauce

Pat the brisket dry on all sides with paper towels so it sears properly.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Sear the brisket for a few minutes per side until the surface turns deep golden brown. Use tongs to turn the meat.

Place the sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Set the seared brisket on top with the fat side facing up.

Whisk beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, spices, and barbecue sauce in a bowl until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the brisket.

Cover and cook on low until the brisket is fork tender or cook on high for a faster option. The meat should pull apart easily with two forks.

Transfer the brisket to a cutting board and rest it for about ten minutes. Slice against the grain or shred with two forks.

Return the meat to the slow cooker and stir gently so it absorbs the cooking juices and softened onions. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
