With the same satisfying flavors and creamy texture as the stovetop mashed potatoes but simplified in the slow cooker! They&#039;re always absolutely delicious and very likely to become a family favorite!

Crockpot Mashed Potatoes

water

chicken broth

lbs russet potatoes, (peeled

Salt, (to taste)

unsalted butter, (melted)

half and half,* (heated)

Pour water and chicken broth into a 4 - 6 quart slow cooker, then as you peel and cut each potato add them to the broth mixture in slow cooker to prevent browning.

Season with salt to taste.

Cover and cook on high heat 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 hours until potatoes are fully tender all the way through.

Drain potatoes in a colander in the sink. Then either return potatoes to slow cooker and mash with a potato masher, or for a completely lump-free option pass potatoes through a potato ricer or a food mill into slow cooker.

Add heated melted butter, heated half and half, season with more salt as needed then gently stir with a spatula or wooden spoon just to blend. Don&#039;t over-mix or they&#039;ll be gluey.

Serve warm, if desired topped with gravy or butter.

A few years ago I discovered making BAKED potatoes in the crockpot (which is SO helpful when you are cooking a prime rib roast and only have one oven) but it had never occurred to me to try making the MASHED variety in my ceramic friend. Turns out it’s even easier than the traditional kind!

Easy Crockpot Mashed Potatoes

Place diced potatoes in the slow cooker, add water or chicken broth and butter. Season with salt and pepper.

Cover; cook on High heat setting 4 hours or Low heat setting for 8 hours, or until potatoes are tender.

Mash potatoes FIRST using a potato masher (DON'T DRAIN!)

Add warmed milk until desired consistency.

Then beat with electric mixer on low speed until well blended. Do not overmix.

Cover and keep warm on Low or Warm heat setting until serving time, up to 2 hours.

By using your slow cooker to make these easy mashed potatoes, you get creamy, flavorful potatoes for any major holiday with barely any effort at all.

Then, mash in additional salt to taste, as well as the remaining butter, sour cream, and whole milk, starting with 1/4 cup and adding more until the potatoes reach your desired consistency. Homestyle Crockpot (No-Boil) Mashed Potatoes

oz chicken broth ((reduced sodium is best))

unsalted butter (2 sticks), (divided)

oz cream cheese,

heavy cream, (room temperature)

onion powder ((optional))

garlic powder ((optional))

salt and pepper,

Grease sides of slow cooker insert lightly with butter, then add chopped potatoes.&nbsp; Top with onion powder and garlic powder, then pour in chicken broth.

Cube 1 of the sticks of butter and place cubes around the tops of the potatoes.&nbsp; Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 1/2 - 4 hours.&nbsp;

Drain potatoes then place back in the crockpot.&nbsp; Add remaining stick of butter (cubed), cream cheese, heavy cream and salt and pepper.&nbsp; Start with 1/2 tsp of kosher salt and 1/4 tsp pepper and adjust from there.

Use a potato masher to mash potatoes until mashed to your desired consistency, using a bit more heavy cream if needed.

Serve right away, or cover and set to WARM setting for a few hours.
