Dog Birthday Cake Recipe For Your Furry Friend

eggs

(2floz/57 milliliters) flavorless oil

(4 ounces 115 grams) applesauce

(2 ½ oz/71 grams) peanut butter*

(5 ounces 142 grams) carrot, (grated)

honey

(5 ounces 142 grams) whole wheat flour

baking powder

peanut butter for frosting, (if desired)

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter and line 2 (6-inch) round cake pans with parchment paper, set aside.&nbsp;

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, oil, apple sauce, peanut butter, carrot, and honey until smooth.

Next, stir in the flour and baking powder until combined. Divide the batter between the two prepared cake pans.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of the cake comes out clean. Allow cooling in the pan for 3-5 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack. Let cool to room temperature.

Stack layers together using a thin layer of peanut butter. Serve a little slice to your furry friend.

Cover the cake with cling wrap and store at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze the rest in slices to give as a treat in the future.

Gemma makes a Dog Birthday Cake for Waffles | Bigger Bolder Baking

Soft and chewy Birthday Cake Sugar Cookies will bring lots of fun and sweetness to any celebration. They’re simple to make with all the flavor of classic yellow birthday cake!

Birthday Cake Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles

all-purpose flour

dry yellow cake mix

fine grain sea salt

baking soda

powdered sugar

unsalted butter,

granulated sugar

vanilla extract

pastel confetti sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cake mix, salt, baking soda and powdered sugar.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and granulated sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and mix on low speed until just combined. Fold in 1/2 cup of confetti sprinkles.

Use a tablespoon or a tablespoon-sized cookie scoop to portion dough into approximately 30 balls, placing each one on the prepared parchment-lined pans. Roll each ball between your palms to make them uniform. Dip the tops of each ball into confetti sprinkles, if desired. Return to prepared parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2-inches apart.

Bake cookies for 11 minutes, or until the cookies begin to brown on the bottoms. Allow cookies to cool on the pans until firm enough to transfer to a wire rack.

Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.

Recipe video above. A dog cake with "frosting" that looks so impossibly real, it's been mistakenly eaten by unsuspecting people on many occasions! Made with dog friendly ingredients with an irresistible peanut butter smell. Fine for humans to consume - but it's a bit odd tasting for our palette!

Dog cake recipe - with dog friendly fluffy frosting!

peanut butter ((spread

oil ((canola, vegetable))

milk (or water)

carrot ((2 large))

whole wheat / wholemeal flour ((or white flour))

tsp baking soda

yogurt (plain unsweetened) or water

Preheat oven to 180C/350F (160C fan).

Grease and line the base of 2 x 20cm/8" cake pans.

Whisk together eggs, peanut butter, oil, honey and milk (little peanut butter lumps ok).

Stir in carrots. Then add flour and baking soda, stir until just combined (over mixing = hard cake = sad birthday pooch).

Divide batter between the cake pans, spread and smooth surface.

Bake 25 minutes or until skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Cool on racks. Frost per below.

Cake:

Boil, steam or microwave potato until very soft.

Whip potato and yoghurt with an electric beater until fluffy and smooth as possible (won't go 100% smooth) - about 1 1/2 minutes on medium speed (speed 5).

Use water as needed to loosen frosting to soft spreadable consistency (like human buttercream frosting!). Use while warm (it "sets" when it cools).

Doggie Fluffy Frosting:

Spread 1/4 frosting on one cake.

Top with other cake. Frost tops and sides with remaining frosting, reserving some to pipe decorations if desired (3/4 cup frosting).

It looks and behaves like buttercream frosting, but is dog friendly so you can use it in abundance to decorate the cake (not recommended for usual frostings made with cream cheese/peanut butter etc etc)

Four-Layer Drip Dog Birthday Cake

eggs (, at room temperature (Note 1))

oil ((canola

milk ((or water))

carrot, grated ((2 large carrots, peeled))

tsp baking soda ((sub 6 tsp baking powder))

potatoes

Water or milk as needed ((to adjust consistency))

Blue food colouring gel (or liquid) ((or other colour of choice, Note 2))

cornflour / cornstarch

yoghurt ((plain, unsweetened))

milk

Silver, blue and white balls, candles, birthday sign

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F (160°C fan).

Cake pans: Grease and line the base of 2 x 15cm (6&quot;) cake pans that are 7.5cm (3&quot;) deep (Note 3 for other cake pan sizes).

Mix wet ingredients: Whisk together eggs, peanut butter, oil, honey and milk (small peanut butter lumps are ok).

Add dry ingredients: Stir in carrot. Add flour and baking soda, stir until just combined (over-mixing = hard cake = sad birthday pooch!)

Fill cake pans: Divide batter between cake pans, spread and smooth surface.

Bake: Bake 30 minutes or until skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Cool on racks.

Level and halve: Trim the mound off the top of each cake to make the tops flat. Then cut each cake horizontally in half using a serrated knife so you have four, even, flat cake layers. Frost per below.

Cook potatoes: Boil, steam or microwave potato until very soft.

Whip: Whip potato and yoghurt with an electric beater until fluffy and smooth as possible –  about 1 1/2 minutes on medium speed (speed 5).

Adjust thickness: Use water as needed to loosen frosting to a soft, spreadable consistency (like human buttercream frosting). Use while warm – it &quot;sets&quot; and gets harder when it cools, Note 4.

White and blue frosting: Use uncoloured frosting to frost between cake layers and sandwich them. Keep remaining frosting to be coloured and used to frost the surface.

Dog-friendly &quot;Buttercream&quot;

Mix ingredients in a small bowl, starting with 1 tablespoon milk. The frosting should be thin enough so it will spread quite smoothly on the top of the cake, but thick enough so the drips you make down the side will hold their form. (Do a test on a straight-walled glass). Adjust thickness with more cornflour / cornstarch (for thicker) or more milk (for thinner).

White Drip Frosting:

Sandwich layers: Place one cake layer on a turntable or serving platter. Spread with 3/4 cup white frosting. Top with another layer of cake, spread with 3/4 cup frosting, then repeat once more and top with the 4th cake layer.

Colouring frosting: Colour the remaining frosting blue using blue gel. To achieve the colour pictured, dip a toothpick into gel container and smear colouring on the surface of the potato. Dip a clean toothpick again into the gel and repeat (you need two dips to get enough colour into frosting). Mix frosting until colour is uniform.

Frosting surface with blue: Frost the top and sides of the cake with the blue frosting, spreading it as smoothly as you can.

Drip Frosting: Spoon 2 - 3 tablespoons of Drip Frosting on the top of the cake and spread carefully to the edge, ensuring you don&#039;t coax it over the edge. Now scoop up a teaspoon of the Drip Frosting  and &quot;drip&quot; it down the side of the cake from the top edge. Repeat all around, making drips of different lengths.

Decorate: Decorate cake as desired with decorations that you want to stick to the frosting. I used silver, blue and white balls.

Set frosting: Immediately refrigerate for at least 3 hours to make the Drip Frosting set. (Also, the silver balls will sweat on the Drip Frosting unless it sets quickly). Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

We're celebrating Tilly's 1st birthday today! Spoil your furry friends with this homemade dog birthday cake made with pumpkin and peanut butter!

Dog Birthday Cake Recipe

vegetable oil

pumpkin puree

peanut butter

eggs, room temperature

flour

greek yogurt

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease two 6 inch rounds. Set pan aside.

In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin, peanut butter, and oil together until well mixed. If you&#8217;re using a stand mixer, about 2 minutes. Add the egg and mix well. Add in all the dry ingredients and using a rubber spatula, fold into the wet until well mixed.

Divide the batter into two pans and bake for 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the yogurt and peanut butter until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Once the cakes have cooled frost them. If you would like a two layer cake, you can leave the two cakes as is. If you would like a 4 layer cake, use a long serrated knife to cut each layer in half. Place one half down on a cake stand or plate and spread a thin layer of &#8220;frosting.&#8221; Place the next layer on top and repeat until all layers are assembled.

I substituted some fresh homemade butternut squash purée on hand for the pumpkin, and it cane out fine. I used three round  glass food storage containers for cake pans, so I got more height, and decorated with tiny dog bone-shaped biscuits. Wish I could share a picture. Thanks for the inspiration!

I made cupcakes (pupcakes?) from this recipe. Makes 6-8 depending on how full you fill them. Baked on 350 for 12 minutes. Perfect!!

Hi! I have made this recipe twice and our dogs LOVED it!  I followed the recipe exactly, but the cake barely rose at all. I thought maybe I needed fresh baking soda but it didn’t make a difference. Any suggestions?

I've made this cake two years in a row now for my corgi. She loves it. This year I subbed applesauce for the vegetable oil, mainly because all I had was olive oil in the house.

My dog loved it. Added some chopped carrots also. Chose to make this one because my dogs name is also Tilly.

I used this as a base recipe and went bougie with it added more frosting and a peanut butter drip. Our doggos deserve the best! She looooved this cake and probably would have eaten the whole thing if i didn't portion it out haha

Dog Birthday Cake

vegetable oil (or bacon grease)

applesauce

carrot (grated)

banana (cut into small pieces)

plain Greek yogurt

peanut butter (xylitol free)

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray cooking spray in two 6-inch round cake pans (these are smaller than normal cake pans) and line with parchment paper on the bottom.

In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, oil, applesauce, creamy peanut butter, carrot, banana, and honey. Whisk together until smooth.

Add flour and baking powder to the bowl and mix with a spoon. The mixture will be on the thick side.

Bake for 28 to 32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the middle of the cake.

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool on a wire cooling rack. Let cool to room temperature before frosting cake. If frosted too early, the “frosting” will melt.

Once the cake is cooled, mix the Greek yogurt and peanut butter in a medium bowl with a hand mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Place the bottom layer of cake on a serving dish and place a generous amount of frosting on top and spread it out to the edges.

Layer with the other cake piece and frost top and sides of cake. Place dog bones on top of the cake for decoration.

Serve immediately.
