Apple Dutch Baby Pancake

eggs

all-purpose flour

milk

sugar

unsalted butter, divided ((4 chunks of 1 tablespoon each))

Confectioners sugar

Maple syrup

apples, peeled and sliced ((¼ inch thick))

cinnamon

brown sugar

maple syrup

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Place a 10 inch cast iron skillet in the oven to heat up.

Caramelized Apples: In a skillet, cook the sliced apples with cinnamon, brown sugar, maple syrup, and butter for about 10-15 minutes, until softened and caramelized. Set aside.

Combine eggs,  flour, milk, and granulated sugar in a blender. Blend until well combined.

Remove hot cast iron skillet from oven. Melt the 4 tablespoons of butter in the hot skillet, swirling it around to coat and cover the pan.

Add the pancake mix from the blender to the prepared hot skillet, and return to the oven. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until puffed up. DO NOT open the oven before time is up, it will deflate the pancake. Instead, use the oven light and peek through the window if you can. If not, just trust the bake time and try at 22 mins.

Serve immediately with the caramelized apples. Dust with confectioners sugar. Enjoy!

Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.While the oven is preheating, use a 9 inches x 13 inches dish and add butter to the pan. Place the baking dish in the oven and allow it to melt while the oven come to temperature (preheat). Remove the baking dish when the butter melts.

In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, a whisk, or food processor combine the eggs, milk, vanilla or almond extract, and sugar. Then add in the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.Dust with powder sugar and top with your favorite fruits. Serve and enjoy!

Remove from oven and sprinkle generously with syrup and powdered sugar or fresh lemon juice and powdered sugar.&nbsp;

Think of this Apple Dutch Baby as a light, fluffy, pillowy pancake. Easy to make, sweet, soft, and buttery, and topped with brown-sugar-and-cinnamon apples, it goes from oven to table in just 35 minutes!

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place 4 tablespoons butter in a 10-inch oven-safe skillet and place the skillet in the oven on a center rack to melt the butter.

While butter is melting, prepare the batter by combining eggs, flour, salt, sugar, and milk in a blender and pulsing til smooth OR whisking in a bowl until smooth.

As soon as the butter in your skillet is melted (be sure not to let it burn), pour batter into the center of the pan.

Bake for 20 minutes, then turn off the oven and bake for about 5 minutes longer. Pancake should be puffed and golden. While pancake is baking, proceed with the next step.

To prepare the apple topping, combine remaining two tablespoons butter, apple slices, and brown sugar in a medium skillet over medium-high heat.

Saute until butter is melted, then continue to stir until brown sugar has melted and combined with the butter to make a syrup. Keep stirring until bubbly and thickened and apples are tender. Remove from heat, stir in cinnamon.

Serve apple topping over pancakes with a dusting of powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy!

Syrup for the sugar and oat flour for the wheat flour and it still came out great.

This was amazing and very easy to follow.

Delicious! I made w double the apples some on the bottom as suggested and the brown sugar ones as a topping.  To the topping I added a sprinkle of nutmeg, cardamom, and cayenne, in asdition to the cinnamon- my go to apple spices.

Delicious! Perfect weekend sweet breakfast, added some pecan bits to the apple cinnamon syrup. 🙂 Gilded the lilly with a tiny bit of vanilla ice cream. Thank you!

The recipe calls for a tablespoon of regular sugar (not powdered or brown) but I can't find in the recipe where its applied. Am I missing something?

Holy goodness!!  I’m not always the best cook but this recipe was so easy and straight forward. My husband and I started our Thanksgiving morning with this little piece of heaven and some peppered bacon on the side. Delectable!!! Can’t wait to make it for my family when they come home for Christmas.
