225 grams/8 ounces potatoes, cubed

150 milliliters/5fl oz double cream or crème fraîche

These little bubble and squeak cakes fancy up leftover roast or mashed potatoes and any uneaten greens. Go even fancier with candied shallots give it a lovely sweetness.

125 milliliters/4fl oz port

crème de cassis

600 milliliters/1 pint beef stock

Melt chocolate and coconut oil together in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir with a metal spoon until melted and smooth. Cool for 10 minutes, but do not refrigerate.

Arrange banana pieces in four serving dishes. Top each with chocolate and vanilla ice-cream. Drizzle over chocolate sauce and finish with fresh raspberries and nuts to serve.

For this recipe you will need a 1 litre/1¾ pint pie dish (roughly 25cm/10cm in diameter).

mustard

150 milliliters/5fl oz double cream

about 360 grams/12½oz leftover meat,

about 240 grams/8¾oz leftover vegetables,

free-range egg, beaten, for glazing
