This easy homemade bagel recipe is made from scratch with just four (5) ingredients – flour, Greek yogurt, egg white, baking powder and salt! 

Easy Bagel Recipe

unbleached all purpose flour, whole wheat

baking powder (make sure it's not expired

salt

non-fat Greek yogurt (not regular yogurt, it will be too sticky (Stonyfield))

egg egg (beaten)

toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic flakes, dried onion flakes**

Preheat oven to 375F. Place parchment paper or a silpat on a baking sheet. If using parchment paper, spray with oil to avoid sticking.

In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt and whisk well. Add the yogurt and mix with a fork or spatula until well combined, it will look like small crumbles.

Lightly dust flour on a work surface and remove dough from the bowl, knead the dough a few times until dough is tacky, but not sticky, about 15 turns (it should not leave dough on your hand when you pull away).

Divide into 4 equal balls. Roll each ball into 3/4-inch thick ropes and join the ends to form bagels. (or you can make a ball and poke a hole in the center then stretch it slightly)

Top with egg wash and sprinkle both sides with seasoning of your choice. Bake on the top rack of the oven for 25 minutes. Let cool at least 15 minutes before cutting.

Oven Method:

Lightly dust flour on a work surface and remove dough from the bowl, knead the dough a few times until dough is tacky, but not sticky, about 20 turns (it should not leave dough on your hand when you pull away).

Divide into 4 equal balls. Roll each ball into 3/4-inch thick ropes and join the ends to form bagels.

Top with egg wash and sprinkle both sides with seasoning of your choice.

Preheat the air fryer 280F degrees. Transfer in batches without overcrowding and bake 15 to 16 minutes, or until golden. No need to turn. Let cool at least 15 minutes before cutting.

Easy Cinnamon Raisin Bagel Recipe

c all purpose flour

whole wheat flour

c plain Greek Yogurt (I used full fat)

tsp baking powder

cinnamon

vanilla

T sugar

tsp sea salt

c raisins

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Combine flours, baking powder, sugar, and sea salt. Use a whisk or fork to mix.

Add in Greek Yogurt, cinnamon and vanilla and mix well to combine using a fork. Mixture will be somewhat crumbly or clumpy. Fold in the raisins and then pull the mixture together into one ball and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. (if it seems a bit dry, add a tsp of water)

Knead the dough about 10-15 times and then divide it into 6-8 even pieces. (you can cut into it or just pull it apart, both work fine!)

Roll each piece into a thin (about 1 inch or just less in diameter) long rope and then make a circle and join the ends trying to press them together. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the bagels.

Whisk the egg for the egg wash in a small bowl. Brush the egg wash all over each bagel, getting every part of the bagel that is showing, including the middle of the bagel.

Bake for about 20-24 minutes or until browned as desired not the outside. Allow to cool before serving, or heck, eat them warm--yum! (you do NOT want to overcook these, so grab them the sooner than later.)

Store for several days in an airtight container or freeze.

2 Ingredient Vegan Keto Everything Bagel Bites

almond flour*

plain, unsweetened dairy-free yogurt*

Preheat oven to 350 and line a large metal baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add almond flour and yogurt to a mixing bowl. Stir with a fork to combine and then use a rubber spatula or your hands to knead for a minute or two until firm, doughy, and not sticky. If your dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour or knead longer.

Roll into balls and roll in the everything bagel seasoning. Bake for 20-22 minutes. *IMPORTANT: Let cool completely!! Otherwise they will be a bit crumbly.

Enjoy right away or store in a paper bag on the counter for up to 5 days. IMPORTANT!: If they get a little soft/moist, place them in the oven for about 5 minutes at 300 before enjoying!
