Worcestershire sauce

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter.

Brown beef, remove from skillet and set aside. If there is a lot of excess grease, remove it.

Add the rest of the butter.

Sauté onions and mushrooms until soft and starting to turn golden, about 3-4 minutes.

Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Add sage and flour and stir until flour is cooked a bit, about 2 minutes.

Add beef broth, stirring constantly.

Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and the beef along with any accumulated juices.

Simmer on low heat until thickened, flavors have melded, and beef is cooked through, about 10 minutes. Be sure it's not burning or sticking on the bottom by stirring occasionally.

Off heat, stir in cream and sour cream until combined.

Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Very good recipe. But at the end meat needs more cooking. So I let it simmer for 30 min adding a little of water to it every 10 min to make sure all the sauce does not dry up. It turned out great! Also make the noodles close to the end, so it is fresh.

Where in the directions do you put the beef and mushrooms back in?  Before or after simmering?

I made this for myself & family for Mother's Day. It was very tender and flavorful.

This is  very similar to my recipe only in that I flour the sirloin strips, then brown in 1 TLB peanut oil & set aside.  I also, do not use tomato paste, mustard nor worcestershire and I simmer the meat for at least an hour after adding the beef broth to the onions & garlic halves; and it is still very, very good.  I also end it with a flour-slurry (rather than cornstarch) and (off stove:) light sour cream. Must have toasted garlic bread to sop up the yummy gravy.

This recipe is just terrible. I followed the instructions and the sauce would not thicken and was really "cornstarchy."I used top sirloin and only cooked it for half the time that was suggested and it turned out very tough. My son started eating it and then got up from the table and asked "Whose idea was this?" Never again.

Did not enjoy the flavor of this recipe, doesn't taste like any other beef stroganoff I've ever had. First Delish recipe I won't be saving.

Cook you Chuck all day in slow cooker. Much better results.

Prepare the wide egg&nbsp;noodles per package instructions.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink.

Add the onions and mushrooms to the ground beef and cook about 5 minutes until onions are soft.

Then add the garlic and stir for about a minute.

Add salt, pepper, and, if you like, crushed red pepper and stir.

Drizzle a tablespoon of Worcestershire over the ground beef, onions, garlic, and mushrooms.

Add the flour and stir.

Pour in the sherry, beef broth and rest of the Worcestershire and let it simmer.

Cook for 5 minutes or so to let it thicken. Add the Dijon Mustard.

Remove from heat and add the sour cream.&nbsp;Stir so that the sour cream is evenly distributed.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and gently fry the onions and garlic over a medium heat for 4-5 minutes.

Turn the heat up and add in the sliced mushrooms (and fresh steak strips if you don&#39;t have any leftover roast beef - see top tips below), and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

Stir in the beef stock, tomato puree, smoked paprika, dijon mustard and dried herbs. Simmer for 10 minutes on a low heat.

Stir in the creme fraiche (or soured cream) and leftover roast beef. Simmer for 5 minutes and serve with the chopped parsley.

Add the ground beef, onion, and minced garlic to a large skillet set over medium-high heat on the stove and season with the salt and pepper.  Cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is almost browned but still slightly pink and the onions have begun to soften, about 5 minutes.  Drain any excess grease from the pan.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the ground beef and onions and continue cooking for another 5 minutes or so, until the mushrooms are softened and brown and the meat is fully cooked.

Add the cream cheese to the cooked meat and mushrooms and let it sit for 1-2 minutes to melt somewhat before stirring it into the meat mixture.  While the cream cheese melts, combine the beef broth and milk in a separate bowl and whisk in the flour until no lumps remain.

After stirring in the melted cream cheese, pour the beef broth/milk/flour slurry into the pan with the meat and mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened and bubbling.

Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream.  Season with additional salt and pepper, to taste.

Serve over hot buttered egg noodles, sprinkled with freshly chopped parsley, if desired.

How to Make the BEST Ground Beef Stroganoff

This Instant Pot Beef Stroganoff is an easy one pot meal made in your pressure cooker. It&#x27;s a healthy comfort food dinner recipe, perfect for a weeknight!

Instant Pot Beef Stroganoff

unsalted butter

yellow onion (thinly sliced)

cremini (baby portobello) mushrooms

salt (or

black pepper (or

all purpose flour

beef broth (divided)

full fat plain Greek yogurt (or sour cream)

parsley (for serving)

Press the saute button on the Instant Pot and add the ground beef to the pot. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until the beef is browned.

Add the butter, onion and mushrooms to the pot. Cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables have softened, 4-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Stir in the garlic and flour and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Press cancel to turn off the Instant Pot.

Add 1 cup of the broth to the pot and stir, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.

Stir in 2 ½ more cups of broth (reserve the remaining ¼ cup to mix into the yogurt later), and stir in the Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard. Finally, stir in the egg noodles and press them down into an even layer. Some of the noodles may be on top of the liquid and this is ok.

Close the Instant Pot lid and turn the steam release valve to the sealing position. Set the cook time to 3 minutes at high pressure using the Pressure Cook or Manual button. The Instant Pot will take about 15 minutes to reach pressure and then the cook time will begin counting down.

When the cook time ends, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes by leaving the Instant Pot alone. Then quick release the remaining pressure by carefully turning the steam release valve to the venting position. You may want to cover the valve with a kitchen towel to catch some of the steam. When all of the steam has escaped and the pin drops down, open the Instant Pot lid.

If some of the noodles on top appear uncooked, stir the beef stroganoff and they will continue to cook over the next few minutes as the dish rests. Press &quot;Cancel&quot; to turn off the warm setting and let the beef stroganoff cool for 3-5 minutes. Meanwhile, warm the remaining ¼ cup of broth and whisk it into the yogurt (or sour cream) in a small bowl until smooth. Stir the yogurt mixture into the stroganoff in the pot. Serve topped with fresh parsley, if desired.

This recipe is amazing. I had to check that I hadn't already left a review before. I am sending it to my friends who have low bandwidth for super complicated recipes!

One adjustment: We use coconut milk instead of yogurt because of my daughter's milk allergy (the quantity of butter is okay). We love it anyways.

While the recipe was very easy I have to say I was disappointed in the flavor or lack there of.  I am not someone who like strong spicy things so it wasn't that, it was just very bland.  To add some flavor I added grated cheese when serving.  I went back through to recipe to make sure I didn't forget anything because I thought there had to be more to it then what I ended up with based on the other reviews.

We made this recipe for dinner using a combination of cremini mushrooms and oyster mushrooms which is what we had on hand. We decided that we preferred sour cream rather than yogurt, but we did try both. My husband and I thought it was a great recipe--easy to follow and produced excellent results. What more could one ask for?

I made this for my husband and he thought it was very good.  I changed the amount of servings from 8 to 4 and noticed that it changes the ingredients but does not change the amount of liquid in the directions. (How do you measure 1.88 c???)
