This Chicken Sprite Recipe will still taste good the day after you cook it. It's a hardy dish which you can enjoy with your family. You could also be sure that kids will love it. Don't feel intimidated by Sprite in the recipe. The addition of Sprite makes the taste sweet and different in a way.

Chicken in Sprite Recipe

chicken

500 milliliters-700 milliliters Sprite

med sized onions, sliced

lemongrass

calamansi lemon

tbsp oyster sauce

soy sauce

salt and pepper

hot sauce (optional)

Put / Insert the Lemongrass (Tanglad) into the stomach of the chicken and rub the chicken with salt and calamansi or lemon juice.

Put the chicken in the deep pot and add the remaining ingredients like onion etc.

Cover and cook for 45 minutes over medium fire or until the Chicken becomes tender.

After 25 minutes of cooking turn the chicken upside down so the color would be even.

Chicken Sprite drumstick

9-10 pieces, drumstick(assorted cut)
5 med sized onions, sliced
4 pieces garlic, crushed (optional)
1 stalk lemongrass
2 pieces calamansi(1 tbsp lemon juice)
500 ml Sprite or 7-Up
salt and pepper to taste
4 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce

1) marinate chicken with salt, pepper and calamansi juice for 5 minutes
2) in a deep pot combine all the ingredients
3) cook for 45 mins. to 1 hour in low fire. optional: you can reduce the liquid 
4) add red bell pepper (optional) and simmer for another 1 minute.
5) serve with rice
