How to fry gnocchi

tbsp oil

500 g ~ 1 lb potato gnocchi

Gently heat the oil and butter in a frying pan until the butter has melted. Add the gnocchi. Don't overcrowd the pan - you want the gnocchi to be spread out in a single layer across the bottom of the pan. Cook over a medium heat, stirring every few minutes, until crisped up to your liking (around 10-15 minutes).

Serve the sautéed gnocchi with a light sauce (see the blog post for some ideas).

Brown Butter Garlic Fried Gnocchi

Tablespoon Olive Oil

potato gnocchi

garlic (minced)

thyme

parmesan cheese (shredded)

In a medium sized skillet over medium hight heat add the olive oil.  Add in the gnocchi and fry until golden for a few minutes until golden and crisp. Remove the gnocchi from the skillet and set aside.

Add in the butter. Whisk until it starts to froth turns brown.

Remove from the heat and add the garlic and thyme. Add the gnocchi back to the butter and toss. Top with parmesan cheese.

Crispy Air Fryer Gnocchi

Preheat air fryer

Preheat the air fryer (if requested by the instruction manual).

Toss gnocchi

Toss gnocchi, olive oil, and a little salt and pepper. Place them in the air fryer basket.

Air fry gnocchi

Air fry them at 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius), shaking every 3 minutes or so, until crispy and lightly golden.

Add more salt and pepper to taste. You can also sprinkle them immediately with Parmesan.

This super simple 20 minute Pan Fried Gnocchi recipe is a perfect dinner side or dinner in itself! No boiling necessary, fry up the gnocchi until crisp and golden and toss in a garlic, lemon herb butter for an amazing dish everyone will love!

20 Minute Pan Fried Gnocchi

lb gnocchi (shelf stable package)

garlic

lemon

Italian seasoning

red pepper flakes

½ tsp cracked pepper

sea salt

c parmesan (more for serving)

parsley (for serving, optional)

Melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat in a 10 inch pan or skillet. Add the minced garlic and allow to heat for about 1 minute to lightly brown, stirring constantly.

Add the uncooked gnocchi and allow to fry for about 12-15 minutes, stirring every 2-3 minutes. If the gnocchi starts to burn, lower the heat slightly. You can fry your gnocchi longer if you prefer it more brown and crispy.

When the gnocchi is golden and crisp on all sides and browned to your taste, turn the heat to low and add in the remaining butter, seasoning and lemon zest. Toss to coat the gnocchi and melt the butter.

When the butter is melted, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the parmesan. Allow to cool for several minutes and then serve with freshly chopped parsley and extra parmesan, if desired.

Fried Gnocchi, Prosciutto and Pecorino Appetizers

rosemary

300 g Gnocchi

120 g Prosciutto (crudo)

g Pecorino (soft)

olives (green)

To make the fried gnocchi add the olive oil to a large frying pan under a medium heat. Fry the gnocchi with the rosemary and a little salt until golden and crispy all over (around 10-15 minutes).

Finley slice the pecorino cheese and cut each slice of prosciutto into 3. Once the gnocchi are cool enough to touch add one to the end of 20 cocktail sticks. Continue to make a stack by adding a slice of prosciutto and a slice of pecorino cheese followed by an olive.

Serve on a serving plate.
