furikake seasoning

This homemade furikake ふりかけ (Japanese rice seasoning) includes nori (seaweed), toasted black and white sesame seeds, salt, and sugar for a simple and easy basic furikake known as &#39;nori komi furikake&#39;. Sprinkle this on steamed rice, udon noodles, onigiri, ramen, popcorn, and more to easily add flavor to any dish!

Furikake (Japanese Rice Seasoning)

white sesame seeds

toasted black sesame seeds

nori sheets (See Note 1)

sugar (or more)

sea salt (or more)

bonito flakes

shrimp

½ teaspoon ichimi togarashi (Japanese chili peppers) (for spice)

wasabi powder (for spice)

Cut nori sheets: Using kitchen shears or a knife, cut the nori sheets into small, thin pieces, or crumble them by hand.

Mix: Add the nori pieces, white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, sugar, and salt to a bowl. Mix together.

Optional add-ins: Add as many or as few optional add-ins as you&#39;d like and mix them together. Taste and adjust the salt and sugar to your liking.

Serve: Sprinkle a few teaspoons of furikake on rice, ramen, udon noodles, french fries, or any protein like chicken or salmon. Store leftovers in an airtight jar and keep them in the fridge for at least a month. Enjoy!

Crispy salmon Onigiri 

short grain rice (warm)

Mingle’s Furikake seasoning

raw salmon (minced)

tbsp light mayo

½ tbsp hot sauce

soy sauce

Place all filling ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together until everything is completely combined

Press ¼ cup rice into the bottom on an onigiri mold

Press a tbsp sized divet in the center of the rice and fill with a scoop of salmon filling

Top with an additional 2-3 tbsp rice and firmly press with the onigiri mold top

Take the onigiri ball out of mold and, coat sides with some olive oil &amp;amp; dip in Mingle’s Furikake seasoning

Heat 1-2 tbsp olive oil in a pan on medium high heat, place onigiri in pan &amp;amp; fry until each side is golden brown

Sushi Tacos

diced raw salmon (makes sure it’s sushi grade/safe to eat raw)

sushi rice (cooked)

Nori sheets

Lime seasoning

cucumber

Avocado

Pickled ginger

In a bowl, combine sushi rice &amp;amp; Mingle’s Furikake seasoning

 Fold Nori sheets in half &amp;amp; cut out circular shapes then stick sushi rice to each circle

Place in air fryer, in taco shapes &amp;amp; cook for 15 mins (until rice &amp;amp; nori gets slightly crispy)

While tacos are cooking, in a bowl: combine diced salmon, 1-2 tbsp of light mayo &amp;amp; a generous sprinkle of Mingle’s chilli &amp;amp; lime seasoning

Fill sushi tacos with salmon &amp;amp; top with Avocado, cucumber &amp;amp; pickled ginger
