In a medium pot, add all the ingredients and whisk to combine. Place it over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until it starts to simmer.

For Chicken

You can serve General Tso's Chicken with White Rice and Steamed Broccoli. Storage Instructions: If you want to store this recipe, then I recommend storing this for just 2-3 days. Also, make sure you cover the bowl with the chicken. Cover it with cling wrap or plastic wrap and make sure there is no air gap around. Place it in your refrigerator. And, before serving, make sure you thaw it out or warm it through in the oven.

GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN RECIPE || GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN SAUCE || Healthy General Tso's Chicken

General Tso Chicken. Crispy chicken smothered in a sweet, tangy, glossy sauce with a spicy kick! This general tso chicken from scratch is easy to make at home. It serves deliciously for dinner, lunch or leftovers. Ready in just 25 minutes! I also share air-fryer instructions below in the Notes below.

General Tso Chicken (Easy!)

chicken thighs (diced)

ginger (peeled (each slice is about 1/4 cm thick))

green onion (finely chopped)

vegetable oil

tsp sesame seeds (optional garnish)

tbsp hoisin sauce ((to make

soy sauce ((not light or dark!))

tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar)

garlic

tsp sesame oil

½ tsp red pepper flakes ((or red chili flakes))

water

In a bowl, combine sauce ingredients and set aside.

Cut each thigh into bite size pieces, about 6-8 pieces per thigh depending on size. Do not pat chicken thighs dry, some moisture is needed for the next step. If you plan to air fry your chicken, please refer to Notes now.

In a bowl, add chicken pieces followed by cornstarch. Mix to coat each piece evenly.

In a wok or pan, set over medium high heat, add vegetable oil. Allow this to get hot. To test, insert a wooden chopstick into the oil and look for bubbles. If you see bubbles, the oil is hot

Carefully lower coated chicken into oil and quickly spread apart. Once chicken is spread apart, do not touch or move the pieces around. Allow pieces to sear and form a golden crust, about 5-6 minutes on each side.

Remove and transfer fried chicken to a plate or cooling rack. Pour out any excess oil from pan.

In the same wok set over medium high heat, add your ginger followed by pre-mixed sauce. Let it come to a boil to thicken and reduce.

Then finally toss in your fried chicken and mix until each piece is coated in sauce. Optionally, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Easy Better than Takeout Instant Pot General Tso Chicken Recipe: Tender, juicy pressure cooker chicken soaked in sweet and sour General Tso Sauce with a tad spicy kick. Easy to make &amp; so delicious to eat!

Instant Pot General Tso Chicken

- 10 (~2 pounds) chicken drumsticks

(15 milliliters) peanut oil

Chinese red chili

garlic (, minced)

(10 grams) slice ginger (, roughly chopped)

(15 milliliters) honey ((optional))

(63 milliliters) dark soy sauce

(30 milliliters) Shaoxing wine

(30 milliliters) Chinese black vinegar white vinegar

(50 grams) sugar

(5 milliliters) sesame oil

Hoisin sauce ((optional))

Sauté Garlic and Ginger: Heat up your pressure cooker (Instant Pot: press Sauté button). While the pressure cooker is heating, pour in 1 tbsp (15ml) peanut oil. Add 10 dried Chinese red chili, minced garlic, white part of green onions, and chopped ginger in the pressure cooker, then allow them to slowly release their fragrance. Sauté for roughly 3 minutes.

Pressure Cook Chicken: Add General Tso Sauce mixture and chicken in Instant Pot. Close lid and pressure cook at High Pressure for 12 minutes + 12 minutes Natural Release. Release the remaining pressure, then open the lid carefully.

Shred Chicken: Place chicken in a large mixing bowl. Remove chicken skin if desired. Shred chicken with a fork. Remove the bones.

Thicken General Tso Sauce: Remove the Chinese red chili. Heat up your pressure cooker (Instant Pot: press Sauté button), and bring the sauce back to a boil. Taste the sauce and add in roughly 1 tbsp (15ml) of honey to sweeten the sauce if desired. Mix 2 tbsp of cornstarch with 2 tbsp of water and stir the mixture into the sauce one third at a time until desired thickness. Place the shredded chicken back in the sauce and mix well.

Serve: Place shredded chicken on lettuce. Garnish with finely chopped green onions. You may also serve this Instant Pot General Tso Chicken Lettuce Wrap with Hoisin Sauce on the side. Enjoy~ :)
