Maple Glazed Ham Steak

maple syrup

brown sugar

apple cider vinegar

Dijon mustard

extra-virgin olive oil, divided

Tuscan kale, stems removed, leaves

c. cooked black eyed peas

I did not serve the ham with kale and black eyed peas, but with stewed apples and scalloped potatoes.  I only used about half of the glaze.  I heard no complaints from anyone.  This is an easy, tasty ham steak.

Made this as written except used brown sugar/stevia blend, turned out great. My new favorite way to eat kale!

Tasty grilled ham steak coated with a spicy brown sugar glaze to give it a little of that honey baked ham taste. Not need to buy 8 pounds of ham for some great taste.

Glazed Grilled Ham Steak

butter

mustard

cider vinegar

cloves

Preheat grill on medium with a surface temperature of 400° to 450°. Clean and oil grates very well.

Rinse the ham under running water. Pat dry with a paper towel and trim any trim-able fat. Cut the steak in half for easier handling.

Mix glaze in a small microwave-safe bowl. Mix well. Microwave for 10 seconds on high, mix again then 10 seconds more on high. This should become liquid. Do a few more seconds if you need to.
