Korean Ground Beef Bulgogi Bowl

Mix all the bulgogi sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until soft, about 1-2 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until beef is browned and fully cooked.

Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer until it is heated through and the sauce reduces, about 2 minutes. Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.

This refined sugar free Easy Korean Beef Bulgogi with broccoli and red peppers is packed with flavour, satisfying textures, and ready in 30 minutes.

Easy Korean Beef Bulgogi with Broccoli

60 ml low-sodium soy sauce ((or gluten-free Tamari))

½ tbsp coconut sugar

tsp toasted sesame oil

tsp rice wine

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

¼ tsp ground ginger

tbsp toasted sesame oil

red bell pepper ((about 1 medium pepper))

broccoli florets ((about 1 small head))

green onion (sliced)

tsp sesame seeds

rice (for serving)

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, coconut sugar, sesame oil, rice wine, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger until emulsified. Set aside.

Bulgogi Sauce

Bring a large skillet to temperature over medium-high heat and then add the sesame oil.

Once the oil is hot, brown the beef, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess fat or water. Add the garlic and finish cooking the beef through.

Add in the bell pepper and broccoli and toss until the vegetables are just above fork tender and the broccoli is bright green.

Pour over the sauce and toss well until heated through. Remove the pan from the heat.

Serve over steamed rice and top with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Beef Bulgogi Meal Prep Recipe

white button mushrooms, about 2.5 oz (70 grams) in total

2.2 lb (1kg) ground beef

broccoli (or asparagus, string beans, etc.)

Kosher salt, to season

tbsp neutral-tasting oil

Generous pinch of toasted sesame seeds, to garnish

tbsp sugar

mirin

tbsp oyster sauce

tbsp minced garlic

Black pepper,

MSG (optional)

Wash the rice to remove any dust and debris. Drain and repeat two or three times. Add the same amount of water to the bowl and pop it into a rice cooker. Press the u0022pressure cooku0022 button.

Cook Rice

Prepare the vegetables: Finely dice the onion. Thinly slice the green onions and save some for garnish. Finely chop the mushrooms. Finely chop the chili peppers (if using).

Make the bulgogi marinade: In a small container, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, mirin, oyster sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, and MSG (if using).

To a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, mushrooms, and marinade. Mix well. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 15 minutes or overnight.

Marinate Beef

Cut off the florets. Cut them into smaller bite-sized pieces.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, lightly season with salt and add the broccoli. Blanch for 1 to 2 minutes. Shock them in some ice water. Drain well.

Prepare Broccoli

In a large wok (or pan), heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once it’s heated, add the white parts of the green onions and onion. Saute for 5 minutes or until the onion becomes translucent.

Add the beef mixture. Spread it out and give it some time to caramelize. Once you’ve got some sear on the bottom, flip and break it into small pieces. Keep stirring it around until the beef is cooked through. This will take about 12 minutes.

Turn the heat off. Add the chili peppers (if using), the rest of the green onions, and the sesame oil. Give it a final mix.

Make Ground Beef Bulgogi

Divide the rice into microwave-safe containers. (Because I’m more into muscle gain, I divided it into 5 servings, but if this is too many calories (884 Calories per serving) for you, you can divide it into 6 or 7 .)

Make a barrier with broccoli. (Make sure the broccoli is really well drained.) Add the ground beef bulgogi. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Optionally, serve with kimchi on the side.

Assemble

mild red chili (or bell pepper) (optional),

1.3 lb (600 grams) ground beef

2.5 tbsp oyster sauce

Thinly slice the green onions, separating the whites and greens.

Finely dice half an onion and mushrooms. Thinly slice the chilies (if using).

Prep Vegetables

In a small container, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, mirin, oyster sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, black pepper to taste, and a pinch of MSG (if using).

To a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, mushrooms, and marinade. Give it a good mix.

Make Bulgogi Marinade

In a wok (or pan), heat the oil (2 tbsp) over medium-high heat. Once it gets nice and hot, add the white parts of the green onions and onion. Saute for 3 minutes or until they start to go brown.

Add the beef mixture and cook for 7 to 8 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated. Make sure to break up the beef and keep stirring it.

Turn the heat off. Add the chili peppers (if using), green onions, and sesame oil (1/2 tbsp). Give it a final mix.

To serve, divide the rice into serving bowls and top with bulgogi. Garnish with some extra green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with salad greens or kimchi. Enjoy~!

These Beef Bulgogi Bowls are an easy dinner that&#039;s loved by all! These bowls are made with fluffy jasmine rice topped with juicy, sweet, and salty beef, crunchy veggies, and a 3-ingredient creamy chili sauce.

Ground Beef Bulgogi Bowls

Cook the rice per package directions.

Prepare the bulgogi sauce by whisking together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper.  Combine the cornstarch with water to make a slurry, then whisk that into the sauce. Last, stir in the green onions and garlic.

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium high heat, about 7-10 minutes. Break up with a spatula as you cook.

Once cooked through, drain any excess liquid or fat from the ground beef, then return to the stovetop. Pour the bulgogi sauce over the meat and stir to coat. Allow the sauce to simmer for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.

Whisk together the mayonnaise, chili garlic sauce, and lime juice until combined.

These were a hit with my family! We love anything customizable and the flavors were great. We can't do rice so we did mashed potatoes or shredded cabbage. Subbed greek yogurt instead of mayo for the sauce and no one minded. This will be another one going into the rotation!

Bulgogi Ground Beef Recipe

Whisk together ¾ cup rice vinegar, ½ cup water, 1 tablespoon honey and ¾ teaspoon salt until salt has dissolved. Add 2 sliced cucumbers and set aside. 

Pickled Cucumbers (optional)

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high. Add 2 (10-ounce) bags carrots and ½ teaspoon salt; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and starting to brown, about 10–15 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside. 

Carrots (optional)

Meanwhile, heat remaining 2 teaspoons oil in a second sauté pan over medium. Add 1 cup grated onion, heaping tablespoon garlic, heaping tablespoon ginger and ½ teaspoon black pepper; cook until starting to brown, 3 minutes. 

Add 2 pounds ground beef and cook, breaking up into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink; drain beef.

Return beef to sauté pan and stir in 3 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 3 tablespoons gochujang, and 2 tablespoons mirin; cook until thickened, about 3 minutes.

Season to taste with additional soy sauce and honey.

Serve bulgogi in lettuce cups with pickled cucumbers, carrots, and rice. Top with sambal oelek, if desired.

I used ground turkey and added a splash of sesame oil. Family loved it! Adding to the weeknight rotation.
