These Italian slider sandwiches are a great combination of salty/sweet with a tangy kick from banana peppers. They're easy to prep and great as a game-day snack or party appetizer.

Italian Sandwich Sliders

genoa salami

pepperoni

cotta salami

banana peppers (mild

olive oil

garlic powder

Instead of cutting the rolls into individual ones, slice the bread crosswise through the middle so you have big two pieces. Place the bottom part of the rolls in a baking dish.

Layer the genoa salami, pepperoni and cotta salami on the bread. Place the banana peppers in an even layer on the meat followed by the sliced cheese. Top with the other bread piece.

In a small bowl, combine the oil and seasoning. Brush the top of the bread rolls with the seasoned oil. Bake the sandwiches for approximately 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted, the bread rolls are toasty on top, and the sandwiches are heated through. 

To serve, slice into 12 individual sandwiches with a serrated knife.

Made these Italian Sliders for NYE with a Caesar Salad. Super easy and fast prep ahead of time in the baking dish, then covered for baking later in the evening. We used mild Banana Peppers, but some with a little more 'heat' would also be great. We also warmed some spicy Marinara for dipping...pretty tasty! Perfect slider for football games, or other gatherings when pre-prep makes baking easy!

We love this recipe! We did tweak it a bit😊. We added thinly sliced red roasted peppers on top of the banana peppers and instead of brushing the top with olive oil and Italian seasoning, we brushed the tops with Kraft Tuscan Italian Dressing (this dressing is somewhat thicker and has small bits of seasoning compared to other Italian dressings). We then sprinkled black poppy seeds over the tops to give it a more “fancy” look. We did find we needed to bake them a bit longer than 10 min to get them completely heated through and the cheese to melt (assuming this is due to the thickness of our deli meats and cheese). Perfect for quick dinner served with tater tots!

Bake covered with aluminum foil for 15 minutes or until sliders are warmed throughout and cheese is melted. Uncover and bake for another 5 minutes or until the tops of the rolls are browned.

Cut sliders and serve warm.

These homemade Hawaiian rolls taste even better than store-bought! Soft, yeasty, &amp; a little sweet, with a pillowy texture that will keep you wanting more.

Hawaiian Rolls

warm water ((just barely warm to the touch, like a baby's bath))

active dry yeast*

pineapple juice

dark brown sugar ((firmly packed))

unsalted butter ((1/2 stick), melted)

eggs ((large))

vanilla extract

flour

butter ((to brush on after baking))

Stir the warm water and yeast together in a large mixing bowl, then set aside until foamy (about 10 minutes).

Add the pineapple juice, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, egg yolk, salt, and vanilla and whisk to combine.

Stir in the flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, until a stiff dough forms and pulls away cleanly from the sides of the bowl.

Knead the dough until it passes the windowpane test,** (about 10 to 15 minutes).

Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in volume (about 1 hour).

Punch down the dough and divide it into 15 equal portions (about 65 grams each).

Shape the rolls and place them in a 9x13-inch greased baking dish that&#039;s been lined with parchment paper.

Cover the rolls with a sheet of greased plastic wrap (if making overnight rolls, place them in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours).

Allow the rolls to rise in a warm place (if making overnight rolls, remove them from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature first) until doubled in volume (about 1 hour).

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake the Hawaiian rolls until puffed and golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and brush the tops with soft butter.

Animal-Style Sliders

canola oil, divided

lb. lean ground beef

yellow mustard

ketchup

mayo

(12) pack hawaiian roll buns

onions,

American cheese,

iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced

Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

sliced pickles

Kosher salt,

sweet relish

sugar

white vinegar

Preheat the oven to 375° F and prepare a 9x13 pan.

Mix all the animal-style sauce ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.

Preheat a pan over high heat for 1 - 2 minutes, then add 3 tablespoons of canola oil and add ground beef—season beef lightly with salt.

Gently smash and spread beef out to crisp up on one side for at least 2 minutes. Then stir ground beef and continue to break up the meat as the rest of the meat finishes cooking.

Remove from the heat and drain beef in a fine mesh strainer.

Use the same pan to saute diced onions over medium heat with the remaining tablespoon of canola oil. Cook for 6 - 8 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove to a bowl.

Add strained beef back to the pan with yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and mayo. Stir to combine and set aside.

Build the sliders in a 9x13 baking tray starting with the bottom half of the sliders. Sprinkle half of the beef mixture over all the sliders, then top each slider with cheese square, then repeat with the remaining beef over cheese, then finish with one more square of cheese.

Top sliders with caramelized onions and bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until the cheese is gooey and melted.

Remove sliders from the oven and top each cheesy slider with two pickles, one slice of tomato, and shredded lettuce. Dollop each slider with animal-style sauce and place slider tops.
