Our Chinese Herbal Tea is the perfect way to balance your energy. Served hot or cold, it only needs 4 ingredients and can be easily modified!

Chinese Herbal Tea (涼茶)

L / 10.6 US cup water

g / 0.22 lb carrot

Start by washing the prunella vulgaris in a bowl of cold water. Grab two handfuls and squeeze the water out, then put it in a colander. Do this until all the dried herbs are in the colander.

Pour the water out and rinse it until clean, then refill with fresh water. Tip the herbs back in and repeat the washing another 2 times. Note: If you find that there is still sand or dirt, keep changing the water and washing until the bowl is clear of impurities.

Wash and peel the carrots.

Pour the water into a pot and add the washed herbs in. Cut the carrots into 2cm (0.8&quot;) chunks and throw them into the pot. Bring it to a boil, then simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes.

Add the sweetened wintermelon in and let it boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and strain the tea into a teapot.

Serve it hot as is or put the teapot in the fridge for a few hours to enjoy as a cold beverage!

How to Make Hibiscus Tea (Agua De Jamaica + Flavor Variations)

Boil the water either on the stovetop or in a kettle.

Once boiled, place the hibiscus petals in a teapot or pitcher and cover with the water. Allow it to steep for 4-5 minutes, then strain, sweeten, and enjoy.It’s best to use a strainer to place the petals, so removing them after the steeping process is easier.

Warm Hibiscus Tea

Add the hibiscus petals to a pitcher filled with the water (room temperature or cool is fine) and stir.

Place it in the fridge to steep overnight or for up to 2 days. It can take a minimum of 4 hours but steep to your desired color and flavor. Then strain to remove the petals and serve.If you want to sweeten the cold brew, it&#39;s best to use a liquid sweetener like simple syrup or maple as they are easier to dilute in the cold tea.

How to make fresh mint tea with mint leaves, lemon, and honey (vegan optional) in under 10 minutes. It can be served warm or iced for either a soothing or bright and refreshing, healthful caffeine-free herbal tea. This honey citrus mint tea is also super versatile - keep reading for all my favorite variations.

Fresh Mint Tea (Honey Citrus Mint Tea + Flavor Variations)

Wash the mint leaves well, especially when freshly picked from an outdoor plant.

Add the leaves and water to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-low heat, allowing it to boil for 2 minutes before turning off the heat.Alternatively, you can boil the water in a kettle and pour it directly over the leaves in your mug/teapot, leaving it to steep for several minutes. However, I don’t find the flavor infuses as much this way.

Allow it to steep for a further minute or two before transferring to a teapot or mug with a few slices of lemon and a drizzle of honey (best added after the tea cools slightly). Enjoy!The longer you steep the tea, the stronger it will become. I usually enjoy my first cup after the above. The second cup is then more robust, and the third is even more so (and usually requires a little extra drizzle of honey or can be diluted with some ice cubes/ water and turned into an iced version).

After steeping the tea, transfer it to the fridge to chill for 2-3 hours (or overnight). Then serve over ice with a few fresh mint leaves.

How to Make Chamomile Tea (Hot and Iced | + Flavor Variations)

Once boiled, place the chamomile flowers in a glass/teapot and cover them with the water. Allow it to steep for 4-5 minutes. Then strain the tea from the pot, sweeten (I make honey chamomile tea), and enjoy.To make it easier to remove the chamomile flowers, you could use a tea infuser/strainer. If you&#39;re making it in a teacup, you could place the flowers in a tiny strainer that dips down into the water. Alternatively, make your own &quot;tea bag&quot; by wrapping the flowers in a cheesecloth parcel.

Warm Chamomile Tea

My preferred method of preparing iced chamomile tea is simply to follow the instruction above, allow it to cool, and then serve over ice with some diced fruit.Some methods have you leave the chamomile (and any add-ins) to steep in hot water for 1+ hour or longer. I&#39;m wary of doing so, though, as chamomile can become bitter when over-steeped. However, feel free to experiment if you&#39;d like.If you’d prefer a longer steep, I recommend cold brewing the tea in cold water overnight (up to 20hrs).

Iced Chamomile Tea

You can store any leftover cooled chamomile tea in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. You could also pour leftovers in an ice cube tray for longer-term storage.

Indian Herbal Tea is made from herbs, ginger, cardamom and lemongrass. This Herbal Chai can definitely become your cup of goodness to begin a day with.

In a kettle pan or saucepan, add the water. Peel the ginger and then crush the ginger and cardamom in the mortar-pestle. This is important otherwise you won&#39;t get the flavor of ginger and cardamom in the tea.

Add the crushed ginger and cardamoms to the water.

Add the lemongrass in the water. I usually cut it into many pieces. So chop them and add to the water.

Also, add the mint leaves and holy basil leaves to the tea.

Boil this water and herb mixture for 7 to 8 minutes or till the color of the water changes to a mild yellowish hue. This change of color of the water will be due to the ginger releasing its juices and flavors in the water.

Add sugar or your preferred sweetener and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes more. You can choose to omit the sugar if you prefer.

Now, add the tea powder or tea bags and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or till the water gets a deep hue of red. Tea powder or tea bags can be omitted to make a herbal tisane.

Add milk. Simmer the tea for 2 to 3 minutes if you are using regular milk or soy milk. Skip the milk if you prefer.

If you are using almond milk or cashew milk, then just stir the milk with tea and remove from the kettle. Heating further would cause the cashew or almond milk to become slimy and split.

Strain the Herbal Tea through a strainer right into the cups.

Serve the Herbal Chai hot as is or pair with snacks.

PS.  Bring you water to a boil. Wait 60 seconds to allow the water to temper before pouring over the leaves. This will prevent the leaves from scalding.   If making iced tea add extra leaves to steep to prevent ice from diluting the flavor.

Steep the tea and sweetener. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the hibiscus and sweetener (I usually add ¼ to ½ cup of sugar). Boil for 3 minutes over high heat, then turn the heat off, cover the pan, and let the hibiscus steep for 20 to 30 minutes.

Strain. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a heat-safe glass pitcher or bowl. Pour the tea through the strainer. Discard the hibiscus flowers and stir in the lime juice.

Adjust to taste. Set aside to cool completely, then taste. If the is too concentrated or bitter, dilute it with a little more filtered water and sweetener. Remember not to dilute it too much, especially if you plan to serve it over ice.

Chill and serve. Transfer to the fridge and chill for a few hours. Serve over ice, with a lime wheel and a sprig of fresh mint in each glass. Cheers!
