This “cheesy” version of homemade Chex Mix (or Gardetto’s snack mix) is actually vegan, and it&#039;s easy to make a big batch for future snacking!

"Cheesy" Homemade Chex Mix

garlic powder

onion powder

paprika

sugar

vegetable oil

corn Chex cereal

wheat Chex cereal

unsalted pretzels

broken up sesame breadsticks ((just crush them in your hand to make large jagged shards))

Preheat your oven to 250°F.

Add the fermented tofu to a small bowl. Use a whisk to break down the tofu until smooth (it will still have a grainy texture, and that’s okay). Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sugar, and oil. Whisk until smooth and emulsified.

In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereals, pretzels, and breadsticks. Drizzle the marinade over the mix in 3 batches, stirring between each batch until evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to a baking sheet.

Bake at 250°F for 45 mins, stirring every 15 minutes or so.

Remove from the oven immediately (now is not the time to let them sit in there while you do other things). Cool for at least 10 minutes before enjoying—they might feel warm to the touch but they’re very hot from the seasoning mix!

Let cool completely before storing. This snack mix will keep for a few weeks in a resealable container.

Preheat oven to 225°F. Line a 13 x 18-inch sheet pan with parchment paper (or two 9 x 13-inch sheet pans); set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together butter, ranch dressing mix, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Set aside.

In an extra large bowl, combine Corn Chex, mini pretzels, oyster crackers, cheesy crackers, and goldfish. Pour butter mixture on top of Chex Mix mixture and toss to coat well.

Spread in an even layer on prepared cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.

This is the only chex mix I make now. It’s so good and my family and coworkers LOVE IT! There’s just something about the sweet and savory that just works. It’s not overly sweet and rounds the flavors out.

This was very good! Will make again. I tweeked a bit, halved the butter, brown sugar &amp; worshishire sauce and omitted the red pepper. Got several compliments!

In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and salt.

Pour onto prepared baking sheets in an even layer and bake for 1 hour, stirring halfway through.

Store in an airtight container for up to 4-6 weeks.

Love this recipe! I add seasoning salt and use a little less garlic and I throw a bunch of Bugles in the mix … yum!!!

Great recipe!!! After my own heart! I do everything that you do plus more nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, peanuts, and pecans.....all a cup each or a bit more pecans and cashews. I use a cup 1/2 pretzel sticks as well. The big thing is more butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoned salt. I use the same amount as you in the seasoning mix but every 15 minutes when I stir I powder lightly the entire mix with all three spices. Of course I love the finished product but I also get rave reviews and even a few offers to produce and sell it commercially. So give it a try and see what you think!
