This Chocolate Truffle Pie is a delicious, mousse-like pie made with chocolate ganache and mascarpone cheese! It's an easy no-bake dessert that everyone will fall in love with!

Chocolate Truffle Pie Recipe

oreo crumbs

tbsp butter, melted

heavy whipping cream, divided

sugar

tsp vanilla extract

chocolate chocolate

salted butter

oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature

2. In a medium sized bowl, add melted butter to cookie crumbs and mix until combined.

3. Press cookie mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of the pie pan, then set aside.

4. Place 1 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream into a large mixer bowl and whip on high until it begins to thicken.

5. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Set whipped cream aside.

6. Place chocolate pieces, remaining 1/2 cup of heavy cream and butter into a microwave safe bowl or measuring cup. Heavy cream should mostly cover the chocolate chips.

7. Microwave mixture until cream begins to boil, about 1-2 minutes.

8. Whisk mixture until chocolate is completely melted.

9. Add mascarpone cheese to chocolate and stir until smooth.

10. Fold half of the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.

11. Spread chocolate mixture evenly into pie crust.

12. Top pie with remaining whipped cream and chocolate shavings, if desired.

Beat 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks in your mixer. (This is the one I have in my kitchen. I've had it for almost 12 years and it still runs like it's brand new!)

Add milk and beat well.

Move it to a sauce pan and cook...

Move it to a sauce pan and cook over slow/low fire until it start to thicken. Whisk the entire time. You don't want it to scorch.

Pour the batter into an unbaked pie crust...

Pour the batter into an unbaked pie crust and cook it at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

While that is baking, let's make the meringue.

In the standing mixer add the two remaining...

In the standing mixer add the two remaining egg whites. Ensure they are at room temperature, this is very important. 

Beat on high until the form high peaks...

Beat on high until the form high peaks adding 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar at a time, up to 1/4 of a cup. OR, you can omit the sugar, you do not have to use it.

Once the pie is done take it out...

Once the pie is done take it out of the oven and add the meringue.

Put it back in the oven at 350°...

Put it back in the oven at 350° for 12 minutes or until it is golden brown.

Let it cool and slice it up.

This homemade chocolate cream pie is rich, deliciously chocolatey, and topped with a sweet whipped cream topping that balances out the chocolate in a way that is a little dangerous. At least for me.

Place flour into a bowl with salt and diced butter and shortening. Using your hands, crumble and squish the fats into pea and marble sized pieces. Place into the freezer, and get 1/4 cup of water, place ice cubes in it, and set aside.

After 10-15 minutes, remove flour/fat mixture from freezer, and using a fork slowly stir in the ice water until the dough starts coming together. Target consistency is slightly crumbly but able to be pinched together and hold. Pour mixture out onto a lightly floured surface and form into a disc. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

Prepare whipped cream by beating heavy cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over chilled chocolate and top with mini chocolate chips. Best served after chilling prepared pie overnight, but will still taste amazing if served right after topped with the whipped cream.

Deep, dark, chocolate chocolate silk pie filling melts in your mouth with each luscious bite. This is much easier than you might think.

French Silk Pie

butter (softened)

cocoa powder

vanilla extract

pie crust (9 inch baked or a crumb crust)

Beat butter and sugar until no graininess remains.

Add cocoa powder and beat well.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating several minutes after each.

Beat in vanilla.

Spoon into crust and smooth top. Chill for 3 hours, at least - overnight is recommended.

Serve with whipped cream, chocolate shavings or other garnish.

Spectacular! SO freaking delicious! I’ve been making this pie for a few years, and it’s an absolute home run every time. I make it at least 4x a year: Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the hubs b-day (French Silk is his favorite, and he’s crazy picky about it). This recipe is perfection! I must have tried at least 8 versions of this dessert before I settled on this one. If you’ve never made it before, I have this advice - follow the directions to the letter. It’s a lot of mixing, but SO WORTH IT! Marye, you’re awesome. I can’t thank you enough for sharing this recipe. You rock 😍😍😍! 

Ps - if you’ve never tried this with a chocolate nut crust, you really should consider it!

Since nobody else has answered you... definitely whole eggs, and add them one at a time and beat at least 2 minutes each. As to the pepper, never heard of putting pepper with a chocolate pie and I've been making French Silk for nearly 40 years. So it's either a typo or her own little recipe quirk. The most important part of any French Silk recipe is the butter. If you melt in the micro, your pie will be runny. And if you let it get too soft from room temp - runny pie. It needs to be soft enough to be able to fluff, but not too soft and not warm.

Anyway, good recipe. I couldn't find any unsweetened chocolate so I had to use cocoa. I've made better but this was still mouth-watering good.
