These incredibly crispy, thick cut, oven baked steak fries are seasoned to perfection with steak seasoning for maximum flavor in every bite! 

Oven Baked Steak Fries

russet potatoes (0.60)

Tbsp cooking oil (0.04)

Tbsp paprika (0.15)

Tbsp steak seasoning (0.15)

Preheat the oven to 425ºF. Wash the potatoes well. Cut each potato into wedges, approximately 12 wedges per potato.  (Quarter the potato lengthwise, then slice each quarter into three wedges.)

Add the potato wedges to a bowl with the cooking oil, paprika, and steak seasoning. Toss the potato wedges until they are well coated.

Spread the seasoned potato wedges out over a parchment lined baking sheet, making sure they&#039;re in a single layer. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until they are well browned and crispy. Flip the steak fries once, after about 20 minutes of baking.

Serve immediately.

Add the potatoes to a bowl of cold water to remove excess starch and prevent discoloration.

Pour oil to a depth of 6 inches (15 cm) in a large heavy pot. Heat over medium-high heat until oil reaches 325˚F (160˚C).

Drain the potatoes and blot dry thoroughly with paper towels.

Working in batches, fry the potatoes in the hot oil for about 5 minutes, or until pale golden. With a slotted spoon or spider, transfer to a wire rack to drain. Season with salt.

Increase the heat to high. When the oil temperature reaches 375˚F (190˚C), return the fries to the pot and fry until golden brown. Transfer to the rack to drain again and season with more salt.

Reduce the heat to medium-high to let the oil temperature reduce to 350˚F (180˚C).

Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel. Season all over with salt and pepper.

Add 1 cup (125 G) of flour to a plate. Dredge the cod in the flour, shaking off any excess.

In a large bowl, whisk to combine the remaining 1½ cups (185 G) of flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the beer, whisking until smooth.

Dip the dredged cod in the batter, turning to coat completely.

Fry the cod in the hot oil until golden brown on all sides, 3-5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to drain for 3 minutes. Season with salt.

Garnish the fish and chips with parsley and serve with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, ketchup, and malt vinegar.

These Healthy Copycat Philly Crab Fries with Cheese are inspired by one of my favorite Philly area stadium snacks. So perfectly crispy and flavored just right with old bay seasoning,  these homemade fries are baked in the oven or made in the air fryer and served with my easy to freeze cheese sauce...so you can make them whenever the mood strikes!

Small Russet Potatoes

Old Bay Seasoning

Avocado or Olive Oil

Salt

Tbsp vegan butter

almond milk

white cheddar cheese or Monterey jack

Wash and peel potatoes, then dry so they are easier to handle.  

Slice each potato in half the long way, lay the cut side flat on the cutting surface and cut into 1/2-inch to 1/4-inch slices. Stack these slices and cut them into the same width sticks to make french fries. Repeat with the remaining potatoes.

Put the cut potatoes in a large bowl and cover with cool water. Soak for at least 20 minutes or up to an hour. This step gets rid of excess starch, resulting in fluffier and crispier fries. Alternatively, you can place fries in a pot. Cover with cold water and add about 1 tsp salt. Bring the potatoes to a boil for 5 minutes. Drain the water.  If I am short on time, I skip these steps and the fries are just a little less crispy.  No big deal. 

Drain and dry potatoes really well. Sometimes I use a salad spinner, but I always use thick paper towels or clean kitchen towels and really wipe them down.  A dry fry is a crispy fry!

Place fries on a parchment lined baking sheet or in the basket of your air fryer. Instead of coating my fries with olive oil, I prefer to use an olive oil sprayer so the oil doesn’t weigh the fries down. Spray fries well with olive oil spray, then season fries liberally with salt &#8211; I like a fine salt because it sticks better.  

Air Fryer: Cook in small batches on 390/400 for 14-16 minutes, flipping or or shaking them halfway through. 

Oven:  bake on 450 for 20 minutes, then flip and finish cooking for about 10 minutes. 

After fries are finished cooking, immediately toss with old bay seasoning and additional salt (if desired).  Start with a little of the seasoning, then add more as you wish. You can also add the seasoning before cooking, but I like to do it after as my kids aren’t fans (yet, lol!) and I can control the level of seasoning better. 

In your skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk together.

Slowly whisk in 1 1/2 cups of almond milk, and continue to whisk until the mixture comes to a boil and begins to thicken. Once thickened, remove sauce from heat and stir in cheese until fully melted, adding salt to taste. If you need to thin it out, add in some additional milk in 1/4 cup increments.

You can sprinkle some old bay into your cheese sauce if you want!

Add all the ingredients to a small bowl and mix.

It&#39;s best to store this seasoning in a clean, airtight glass jar (a spice jar with a shaker top is best) in a cool, dark, dry place away from moisture and sunlight. Aim to use it within 3-4 months for the best flavor, though the shelf life will easily last 1-3 years, depending on the freshness of your ingredients. You can also freeze the French fries seasoning for an extended shelf life (10-12 months +). Though you have to be careful not to allow any moisture into the container, or the seasoning will clump up and be ruined. Label the jar. That way, you&#39;ll know by when it&#39;s best to use it and make the most of it while it&#39;s at its most flavorful.

Easy French Fry Seasoning

Try these easy Homemade French Fries made in the Air Fryer or in the Pressure Cooker using the Crisplid. They are so good, you will never want to have deep-fried fries again!

Instant Pot Air Fryer French Fries

Potatoes (Russett, medium or large in size)

Olive Oil

Black Pepper

Garlic powder

Scrub potatoes and then slice into strips. You can peel the potatoes if you like.

Soak potatoes in fresh water for 15 minutes. Then drain water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Add the oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder in the sliced potatoes in a bowl. Toss to coat

Arrange the seasoned potato slices on the bottom of your air fryer basket, in a single layer, if possible. The more separated the potatoes, the crispier they will be. If needed, you can also cook the fries in batches. This will depend on the size of your air fryer.

Cook the fries at 375ºF for 10-15 minutes. Toss the fries half way through. If the fries need to be crisper, allow to cook for additional time.

For Air Fryer:

Place the trivet and the cooking basket with the sliced potato inside the pressure cooker inner stainless steel pot. Try to place the fries in a single layer. If needed, you can also cook the fries in batches.

Now place the crisplid on top of the inner pot using the handle on the crisplid. Plug the crisplid and lower the handle. (Make sure the pressure cooker is unplugged)

Set to 375°F (190°C) and cook potatoes for 10 minutes. Flip fries and continue cooking until crisp, about 10 minutes more. If you like the fries to be crispier, then toss and add 5 more minutes.

Remove the french fries into a serving plate and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

For Pressure Cooker Crisplid:

This Copycat Five Guys Cajun Fries Recipe is crispy, spicy, and perfectly flavored with our cajun seasoning blend. It&#039;s a healthier version that can be made both in the oven and air fryer.

Copycat Five Guys Cajun Fries Recipe

russet potatoes (or 3 medium)

peanut oil (or canola, or olive oil)

cooking spray

tsp smoked paprika

tsp red chili flakes

tsp salt

Wash, peel, and cut potatoes into ½-inch thick fries. Then, if using the oven method, add your baking sheet to the oven and preheat it to 390ºF (200ºC).

This is optional, but it helps to get rid of some of the starch, which results in crispier fries. Fill a large bowl with water and add ice and add the potatoes. Soak for at least 30 minutes, then drain and rinse.

Lay them on a few layers of paper towels and dry well. This is important to make sure that the seasoning will stick properly.

Add the potatoes to a bowl and coat with 1 tablespoon of oil. Then, add the spice mix and stir until every last piece is well-coated.

Take the hot baking sheets out of the oven and spray them with cooking spray. Add the fries in a single layer, giving them enough space in between. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.

If using an air fryer, preheat it to 390ºF (200ºC). Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then add the fries in a single layer. Cook for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
