Blend: Blend fruit in food processor or blender until smooth. Mix in sweetener and lemon juice.

Spread: Pour into a pan lined with plastic wrap or parchment paper then spread out ⅛ to ¼ inch thick.

Dehydrate: Dehydrate in oven at 140 to 170 degrees F (or as low as oven will go) for 4 to 6 hours, or until the middle is not longer tacky.

Cool: Allow to cool, then remove from sheet. With clean scissors, trim off edges then cut into 1 inch wide strips. Wrap with strips of parchment or tissue paper, then use tape or string to seal.

Easy homemade fruit leather recipe made with strawberries and honey. No sugar added fruit roll ups for the perfect afternoon snack.

How to Make Fruit Leather - EASY

Preheat oven to 150 &#8211; 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (do not use wax paper).

Pour berries and honey into a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.

Pour berry mixture onto parchment lined 9&#215;13-inch pan(21cm x 31cm). If you wish to remove the berry seeds, pour it through a sieve or ring it through a cloth (much faster).

Spread the berry mixture with a spatula to a thin even layer.

Bake for 6 hours, until leather peels away easily from the parchment. Set on the counter to fully cool down for 4 hours or overnight.

Using scissors cut the parchment paper from the edges and then into strips. Roll them up, parchment and all.

Use Silpat sheets.  My fruit leather turned out a little thin, but it came off really easily.  Just need to make it thicker next time.  Also, I used honey, I read somewhere you can also use corn syrup but sugar may crystalize.

I just made the Apple Cinnamon Fruit Leather from your Best Homemade Kids' Snacks on the Planet book. I had the puree in the oven at about 175 for 11 hours. I used a 1/4 sheet pan with parchment paper and they come off the paper without any trouble. A bit tough on the edges, but perfect texture in the middle. Great flavor and the kids really like it! Just took lots of extra time.

Hi there.  Can you actually make it thicker if you want? Like a 1/2 inch. I wanted to make a sheet and cut it into little cubes. :)

I did as instructed with an Excalibur dehydrator (I can set the temp to whatever I want). It's delicious, but it sealed to the parchment paper. Any tips on getting it off?

I make mine in a dehydrator. Wipe the trays with a very light layer of spray oil using a paper towel. Too much oil will change the taste, so be sure it is only a teeny bit. Dried rolls will peel right off.

I made these today and they turned out wonderful!  I also used an Excalibur dehydrator and if you look in the book that comes with it, it states for fruit leathers to set the temp to 135 for 4-6 hours.  I did for 4 hours and they turned out great.  The first couple of sheets were poured a little too thin and we had to work carefully to pull off ( I had used the sheets that was ordered with the Excalibur) so next time I'm going to just use parchment paper.  The other trays/sheets seemed to have the right amount poured and came off great!  I pulled some peaches out of the freezer I had put up this summer and combined that with fresh apples I had gotten at an orchard.  Thanks so much for the recipe, will be making multiple times!

Homemade Fruit Leather

Preheat the oven to 150° or the lowest your oven will go, making sure it’s below 200°. Line your baking sheet with a silpat and set aside.

In the blender add the strawberries, lemon juice and sugar. Blend until you have a smooth puree. Pour the puree onto the baking sheet and smooth using a knife or an offset spatula. Tapping the pan on the counter a few times can help get it nice and even.

Bake for 6-8 hours, or until the leather is no longer tacky. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before using a pizza cutter to cut into strips for fruit roll ups or into rectangles for pieces of fruit leather. If you would like to roll it, cut a strip of parchment paper to roll up with it so it does not stick to itself.

Watermelon Fruit Roll-Ups Are Pure Magic

Make our Raspberry Fruit Leather with just 3 ingredients for a healthier twist on store-bought rollups. Easy to make and irresistibly chewy. 

3 Ingredient Raspberry Fruit Leather Recipe

(12½ oz/355 g) raspberries

Preheat the oven to 200°F (100°C) or its very lowest setting and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat.

In a blender or food processor, puree the berries with the sugar and lemon juice.

Pass through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds.

Pour the mixture onto the baking mat and spread into roughly a 10x12-inch rectangle.

Bake for 4 to 5 hours, until the leather no longer feels tacky but is still flexible. Just a note that everyones oven is different so check at the 4 hr mark. Don&#39;t let the leather get crisp and hard.

Starting at a short end, cut into nine 1-inch-(2½-cm)-wide strips.

Roll and store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Divide mixture between three silicone dehydrator trays.  Use an offset spatula to spread the mixture to an even thickness on each tray.

Dehydrate at 135 F for 6 hours.

At 6 hours, check your fruit leather.  It should pull up from the silicone relatively easily, and be soft without being sticky.If it’s not dried yet, put it back in the food dehydrator until it is.

Allow to cool to room temperature.  Use a pizza wheel or sharp knife to cut the strawberry banana fruit leather into strips, then store in an airtight container.We like to stick each one to a square of parchment and roll them up.

This Caramel Apple Fruit Leather recipe is a little more work than some fruit leathers, but is worth the effort. Fruit-Roll Ups, but better!

Caramel Apple Fruit Leather [Caramel Apple Fruit Roll-Ups!]

Granny Smith Apples (Cored, Peeled, and Chopped.)

Water

Cup Granulated Sugar

tsp Lorann Green Apple Flavor Oil

3/4-1 tsp Citric Acid

Green Food Coloring (Optional)

Tbsp Brown Sugar

tsp Lorann Caramel Flavor Oil

Simmer apples and water - covered - for 10-15 minutes, or until the apples are cooked through and soft.

Transfer apples and any remaining water to a high speed blender or food processor, along with the granulated sugar and salt.

Blend until smooth, then divide into small mixing bowls.

In one bowl, add the green apple flavoring, citric acid, and food coloring - if using.  Stir to combine.

In the other bowl, add the brown sugar and caramel flavoring, stir well to combine.

Divide each of the two mixtures between two silicone dehydrator trays, aiming to get half of each on each tray, in random drops.   (Ours are about 11 x 10", and we used 2, perfectly. )

Use an offset spatula to spread the mixtures and LIGHTLY swirl together to form an even thickness on each tray.

At 6 hours, check your fruit leather. It should pull up from the silicone relatively easily, and be soft without being sticky.   If it’s not dried yet, put it back in the food dehydrator until it is.

Once you’re happy with the dryness, remove the pans from the food dehydrator and allow to cool to room temperature.

Use a pizza wheel or sharp knife to cut the caramel apple fruit leather into strips.   We like to stick each one to a square of parchment and roll them up, before storing in an airtight container.  (Usually a Ziplock Bag)
