You can make this homemade gummy bears recipe in almost any flavor, using different combinations of freshly squeezed juices or pureed fruits. NOTE: Do not use pineapple; it contains enzymes that break down gelatin so it will not set properly. Below are three of my favorite recipes. Feel free to adjust ingredients and sweetness to your liking.Each of the recipes below will yield about 120 homemade gummy bears.

Homemade Gummy Bears Recipe

orange juice

lemon juice

raw honey

gelatin

strawberries

filtered water

Combine all ingredients except gelatin in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir with a whisk.

Gradually whisk gelatin into the mixture, stirring constantly. (Avoid dumping gelatin into the pan all at once, which will cause big globs of gelatin to remain in the finished product.)

Continue heating over medium-low heat until all ingredients are well combined and gelatin is completely melted. (The mixture will change from a grainy, jelly-like consistency to a more glassy, smooth consistency when gelatin is all melted.)

Place gummy bear mold on a cookie sheet (which makes it easier to move without spilling once filled). Pour mixture into silicone mold and place in freezer for about 20-30 minutes.

Pop homemade gummy bears out of mold and store in an airtight container. They will keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks.

Homemade Strawberry Gummy Bears (all natural sugars)

(200 grams/7 ounces) strawberries (fresh or frozen and defrosted)

(70 grams/3floz) water

Puree the fruit in a food processor until smooth.

When it comes to a simmer gradually whisk the gelatin into the mixture, stirring constantly. (Avoid dumping gelatin into pan all at once, which will cause big globs of gelatin to remain in finished product.)

Continue heating over medium-low heat until it comes to a simmer and all ingredients are well combined and gelatin is completely melted. (The mixture will change from a grainy, jelly-like consistency to a more glassy, smooth consistency when gelatin is all melted.)

Take it off the heat and pass it through a sieve to remove any gelatin of fruit bits. If there are bubbles on top remove with a spoon.

Place gummy bear mold on a cookie sheet (which makes it easier to move without spilling once filled). Pour mixture into silicone mold and place in the fridge for a minimum of 6 hours. Any air bubbles that appear just pop with a toothpick.

Pop gummy bears out of mold and store in an airtight container in the fridge. They will keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks.

These delicious Homemade Gummy Bears are easy and fun to make with JELLO!

Homemade Gummy Bears

Box Flavored Jello ((A typical box is 3 ounces))

Packets Unflavored Gelatin

Water

Cup Cornstarch

Dust the gummy bear molds with a light coat of cornstarch. Set aside.

In a saucepan place flavored jello and 2 packets of unflavored gelatin.

Add ⅓ cup water.

Mix together and let sit for 5 minutes.

Place the pan on low-medium heat and whisk continuously until the powder is dissolved. This will take about another 5 minutes.

Once dissolved use a dropper to place in molds.

Allow gummies to sit for 5-10 minutes to cool. Lightly coat the backs of the gummy bears with cornstarch.

Place the molds in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to fully cool and set.

In a shallow bowl, add 1 tbsp cornstarch. Pop the gummy bears out of the molds and into the bowl.

Lightly toss to coat the gummies evenly. The cornstarch will prevent the gummies from sticking together.

Store in an airtight container.
