Cooled sauce can be stored in a jar with a lid or in airtight container in the refrigerator for many weeks (recipe source says 1 week but I think that’s very conservative). I store mine for up to 1 week at room temperature; do as you’re comfortable with. Reheat sauce before using by placing the desired portion in a microwave-safe bowl and heating for about 10 to 15 seconds, or reheat on the stovetop.

Hot Fudge Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, corn syrup, cream, salt and water. Stir constantly and bring to a simmer.&nbsp;

Simmer for 4 minutes.&nbsp;Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter.

Add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until smooth.&nbsp;

Serve warm, over ice cream.&nbsp;

To store: refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. Reheat on low power in the microwave, stirring several times, until warm and smooth.

Add everything to the slow cooker. Set the slow cooker to low. Stir to coat the chocolate chips with the sweetened condensed milk.

Turn the slow cooker to low. You will need to stir every 20-30 minutes, you do not want to scorch the chocolate. This will take about 1.5 hours to melt.

When the butter and chocolate have melted together, gradually stir in the sugar. Then stir in the salt.

Next, very slowly add the evaporated milk while stirring. Mix well.

Add the vanilla extract, and continue to stir until the mixture thickens up a bit.

Remove from the stove and use warm, or store in an airtight container for up to one week. The hot fudge will thicken as it cools, so you may need to reheat in a double boiler or your microwave before using it from the fridge.

Add vanilla.
