Didn’t change a thing! Excellent taste and consistency. Kids loved it. Very easy too.

This is the second time I’m making this recipe. I only used onions as I didn’t have any leeks, and used dried thyme. I also added a bay leaf for no other reason than I know it can go in soups. It was delicious the first time and now I’ve made it again and it’s in the ninja pot cooking. I didn’t find that it was too thick or undercooked when I made it last week. Perfect

Nope. The flavor was fine, and I think the lemon is a great way to enhance the flavor. However the cooking time was way, way off for the peas. I cooked the soup as directed and got cooked soup with crunchy peas. Doubled the cook time,  and I got almost liquefied vegetables, and barely softened peas. The peas weren’t old, and didn’t come from a low-quality grocery. Good concept, but execution doesn’t work.

I am new to cooking with a pressure cooker, so I was a little skeptical that the split peas would cook in 14 minutes. They were perfectly cooked and the soup was delicious. I will definitely make this again!

I will make this, but not sure of the lemon.

I just tried this recipe and I had clumps of beans in some parts of the cooker that were crunchy. I added four cups of water and restarted the pressure cooker for 6 more minutes. It sounds like an experiment I have to work to perfect.

Can I prep ingredients some how to freeze and give to someone for their pot? 
All they do is put in  pot,  they work long hours and would like some meals done up ahead and frozen. .any suggestions would be great ....love ghis soup recipe wondering how to freeze in what container

Place the butter, chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and all spices in the Instant Pot. Set on Sauté for 5 minutes. Stir to make sure the ingredients don&#x27;t burn. Once the onions are soft, turn off.

Pour 1 cup water into the pot. Then use a wooden spoon to scrub the debris off the bottom of the pot. (This ensures the burn notice will not go off!)

Add the chopped chicken thighs and canned tomato sauce. Lock the lid into place and turn the Instant Pot on Pressure Cook High for 7 minutes. Once finished, turn the Instant Pot&nbsp;Off, then perform a Quick Release to release the steam pressure. Once the valve button drops, unlock the lid and remove.

Stir in the heavy cream. Set the Instant Pot on Sauté again and simmer for 2-5 minutes to thicken the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and serve with basmati rice.

Break the spaghetti noodles in half and place in the Instant Pot. Add the garlic, coconut oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and water. Cover and lock the lid into place.&nbsp;

Set the Instant Pot on "Pressure Cook High" for 4 minutes. Once it is finished cooking, turn the Instant Pot "Off", then press the button to "Quick Release" the steam, until the valve button drops.

Meanwhile, in a medium bowl mix the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, lime juice, and Sriracha together.

Unlock the lid and stir the sauce into the pasta. Let the sauce simmer and thicken 2-3 minutes if needed. Pour in the shrimp and scallions, then mix to combine. Set the Instant Pot on &quot;Sauté&quot; and cook for 2-3 minutes, toss and simmer until the shrimp are pink. Taste, then salt and pepper as needed. Add more Sriracha if desired. Serve warm.

In 6 or 8 quart Instant Pot, add water and place trivet. Set aside.

In a small bowl, whisk salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika and dried oregano until combined. Set aside.

Rinse frozen chicken with cold water and dry with paper towel. It is necessary to remove the frost. Transfer to a large bowl.

Drizzle with a bit of oil and rub with your hands spreading all over the chicken. This will help spices to stick to meat.

Sprinkle prepared spice mix evenly around chicken, while holding onto the wing and turning.

Transfer seasoned chicken to previously prepared Instant Pot chicken breasts up.

4 lbs whole chicken – 60 minutes.

5 lbs whole chicken – 70 minutes.

For 6 quart Instant Pot:

4 lbs whole chicken – 40 minutes.

5 lbs whole chicken – 50 minutes.

6 lbs whole chicken – 60 minutes.

After, you have to let Instant Pot release pressure on its own until the pin drops down - called Natural Release. It should take about 15-30 minutes depending on the size of your pressure cooker. 8 quart takes longer.

Open the lid and carefully remove chicken onto platter, or using tongs or knife, remove pieces right in the pot and serve. Chicken will be super tender.

Serve however you like: with pasta and salad, with quinoa salad etc. Save bones for Instant Pot bone broth. And that flavourful broth at the bottom of the pot makes amazing soup the next day.

Instant Pot Frozen Chicken

In this Instant Pot Pasta with Sausage, penne pasta, Italian sausage and veggies all cook together in marinara sauce in your pressure cooker. It&#x27;s one of our favorite easy Instant Pot meals for busy weeknights!

Instant Pot Pasta with Sausage

olive oil

Italian chicken sausage (see notes)

onion

bell peppers (chopped)

Italian seasoning

whole wheat penne pasta (about 4 ½ cups dry)

marinara sauce

spinach (coarsely chopped)

(½ cup) mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Turn on saute mode on the Instant Pot and add the olive oil to the pot.

If using sausage that is already cooked, slice it and add it to the Instant Pot. If using uncooked sausage, remove it from the casings and add it to the pot.

Add the onion to the pot and saute the onion and sausage for 2-3 minutes, or until sausage is browned (for uncooked sausage, break it up into smaller pieces as it cooks). Press cancel to turn off saute mode.

Add the bell peppers, water, Italian seasoning and 1 cup of the marinara sauce. Stir, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.

Add the penne pasta to the pot and do not stir. Press the pasta down into an even layer. Pour the remaining sauce evenly over the top of the pasta; do not stir.

Close the Instant Pot lid and turn the steam release valve to the sealing position. Set the cook time to 2 minutes at high pressure. (This 2 minute cook time is for whole wheat penne pasta with a stovetop package cook time of 9 minutes for al dente. You can adjust your pasta cook time as needed, see my tips in the post above.)

The Instant Pot will take about 18 minutes to reach pressure and then the cook time will begin counting down. As soon as the cook time ends, do a controlled quick release of the pressure by turning the steam release valve towards the venting position, a little bit at a time. I like to use the handle of a long spoon to carefully move the valve. When all of the steam has escaped and the pin drops down, carefully open the Instant Pot lid. You may see a little bit of extra liquid in the pasta, but this will be absorbed as the pasta rests.

Stir the pasta and then stir in the spinach, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese. Serve.

Trim the extra fat off the pork roast and cut it into large 2-inch chunks. Turn the Instant Pot&nbsp;on Sauté. Sprinkle the pork chunks with the ancho chile powder, cumin, oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Toss to coat. Add half the pork to the Instant Pot and brown on all sides. (The pork will pull away from the bottom of the pot when it's caramelized. No need to add oil.) Then transfer the pork to a plate and repeat with the remaining pork.

Take all of the pork chunks out of the pot. Sauté the onions and garlic for 2 minutes to soften. Then add the pork, orange juice, Old El Paso Chopped Green Chiles, and liquid smoke to the pot. Stir well.

Lock the lid into place. Set the Instant Pot on the Meat setting. Pressure cook for 30 minutes.

Once the timer goes off, turn off the Instant Pot and perform a Quick Release. When the steam valve button drops, it is safe to open the pot. Use tongs to shred the meat.

You can serve the carnitas as-is on Old El Paso Flour Tortillas. For crispy restaurant-style carnitas, scoop the shredded pork out of the pot with a slotted spoon, and spread in a thin layer on a baking sheet. Broil the carnitas for approximately 5 minutes to form crispy edges. Then serve on tortillas or as a topping for salads and nachos.

Instant Pot Sweet Soy Chicken Thighs Recipe - Melt in your mouth chicken thighs made in the pressure cooker, with a sweet sticky ginger garlic soy glaze.

chicken thighs ((10-12 thighs))

soy sauce ((I bought gluten-free))

Turn the&nbsp;Instant Pot on the&nbsp;Sauté setting and add the sesame oil. Add several of the chicken thighs, skin-side-down. Brown the skin for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown. Then remove the chicken thighs and repeat with the remaining thighs until all have been browned on the skin side. Place all the chicken thighs back in the Instant Pot, skin-side-up. *This first step is optional. Then skin will not stay crisp once pressure cooked, but the browning process gives the skin a much richer color once finished. If skipping the browning, pile the raw thighs in the Instant Pot and move onto step 2.

Pour the soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Whisk well, then pour the glaze over the top of the chicken.

Lock the lid into place. Set the Instant Pot on&nbsp;Pressure Cook High for 20 minutes. Then turn the Instant Pot&nbsp;Off and perform a&nbsp;Quick Release . Once the pressure valve button drops, it's safe to open the lid.

Scoop 1/4 cup of the glaze out of the pot. Whisk 1 tablespoon cornstarch into the glaze. Then turn the Instant Pot back on&nbsp;Sauté and stir the cornstarch slurry back into the pot. Let it simmer for 2-4 minutes to thicken the glaze. Turn off the pot. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions before servings.

Instant Pot Homemade Bread

Line and grease a 6-8" cake pan that can fit easily inside your instant pot.

Place the trivet in your IP and add 1 cup water.

In a large bowl, combine the water, yeast and salt.

Let the yeast proof for about 3 minutes, then start adding in the flour.

This is a no-knead recipe, so just mix the dough by hand until no dry patches appear.

Fold the dough out into the prepared cake pan

Place the cake pan in the IP and place the lid on top (do not need to secure).

Select the "keep warm setting" and let the dough rise for 2 hours.

After the dough has doubled, you can refrigerate or continue baking.

Secure the lid and select manual for 45 minutes.

Once done allow the pressure to naturally release.

Cut the chicken into thin slices or bite sized cubes.

Scramble

Scramble the eggs in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook in the microwave for 1 minute. Mix and cook for 30 to 40 seconds or until the eggs are fluffy and set. See notes.

Turn the sauté setting on and heat the oil. Add the carrots, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute. Do not allow the garlic to brown. Turn the sauté setting off.

Add the chicken and rice. Pour the chicken broth in and gently toss the ingredients to combine just until the rice is moistened.

Pressure Cook

Twist the lid on and lock it in place. Turn the pressure valve to the sealing position. Press the manual button and set the pressure cooking time for 5 minutes. It will take 10 to 15 minutes for the Instant Pot to reach full pressure and start the pressure cooking time.

Release

After the pressure cooking has ended, allow 5 minutes for a natural pressure release. Then flip the pressure valve to unsealing and allow all the steam to release before carefully opening the lid.

Add the scrambled eggs, thawed peas, half of the sliced green onion, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the cooked chicken and rice. Use a large fork to fluff the rice and to combine the ingredients.

Warm

Twist the lid back on and allow the trapped heat of the Instant pot to heat the peas and eggs for 5 to 10 minutes.

Serve

Serve the rice as a side dish or meal. Garnish with sliced green onion and chow mein noodles for an authentic touch.
