You&rsquo;ll be working with two sets of jelly in this recipe: gelatine power that you&rsquo;ll mix with your condensed milk, and Aeroplane Original Strawberry Flavour Jelly for your jelly layer topping. The topping jelly is made per the back of pack instructions, but with 100ml less water &ndash; remember this when following our original Strawberry Jelly Slice recipe!Tips for Cutting Even Slices:a) Line the baking tin with baking paperWhen preparing your slices, use a lightly greased and then lined baking tin. The baking paper will stay in place if you grease the tin before putting the crushed biscuit base inside.b) Leave your jelly slice overnight before you cut itThis isn't always feasible, but if you can leave your slice overnight before cutting it, you'll notice that the pieces are much easier to cut into. Always wait at least a few hours (minimum) before cutting your base to prevent breaking and crumbling.c) Choose the correct type of knifeTo begin with, ensure that your knives are sharp! It's impossible to neatly cut a slice with a blunt knife, so always ensure your knives are sharp for clean, seamless slices. The sort of slice you're making will determine the sort of knife you use. A large flat edged knife works well on slices that require a very sharp blade. The slice must be firm and free of a hard chocolate topping. A lemon coconut or ANZAC slice are examples of things that would go well with this kind of knife.

Original Strawberry Jelly Slice Recipe

g butter, melted

water

x 395 g can sweetened condensed milk

x 85 g packet Aeroplane Original Strawberry Flavour Jelly

gelatine powder

step 1

Line a 20 cm square pan with baking paper. Combine crushed biscuits and melted butter, stir to combine well. Press biscuit crumb evenly over base. Refrigerate while making filling.

step 2

In a bowl combine boiling water and gelatine, stirring well until gelatine is completely dissolved, then stir through the condensed milk. Set aside to cool to room temperature. Pour mixture over the biscuit base and refrigerate until set (1-2 hours).

step 3

In a second bowl, prepare Strawberry Jelly according to packet instructions, using 100 mL less cold water than directed. Allow to cool completely. Gently pour jelly over set filling and refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until jelly is set. Slice to serve.
