This Keto Fried Fish is seriously delicious! Eat it as is, or serve it on your favorite low carb bun with some tartar sauce for a delicious fish sandwich! You won't believe that it's low carb, gluten free and paleo friendly!

Keto Fried Fish

lb White Fish (cod, tilapia, or pollock work great!)

Almond Flour

Salt and pepper

2-3 tsp Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning

eggs (beaten)

Oil for frying (you will need enough

Heat the oil over medium high heat a heavy skillet. If you have an electric skillet, set it to 375 degrees F

Set up the well beaten eggs in a rectangular dish. Then combine the almond meal, and Tony's (or other seasoning) and place on a plate or shallow dish for dipping the fish.&nbsp;

Using paper towels, pat the fish very dry, then season both sides with salt and pepper dip in the egg, then coat both sides in the almond flour mixture - shaking to remove the excess.

Place the fish into the hot oil in the skillet. Allow to cook for about 2-4 minutes per side, depending upon the thickness of your fish.&nbsp;

Remove to a platter, allow to cool slightly before serving.

Keto Fried Fish - Low Carb Battered Cod Fish

lb skinless wild-caught cod fillets (or other firm white fish fillets)

almond flour

plain whey protein powder

tsp baking powder

eggs (large)

Zevia Root Beer (or club soda)

sea salt (to taste)

Dry fish.

Drain the fish in a colander for 15 minutes and then pat dry with a paper towel.

Make batter.

Mix the almond flour, protein powder and baking powder. Stir in the eggs and root beer or club soda. Let rest, uncovered, for 10 minutes. If it seems too thick, add a tablespoon or two of soda to thin it out a bit.

Fry.

Heat oil in the deep fryer to 350°F. Fry in batches to avoid the fish fillets touching. Dip each fillet, ensuring it is completely covered, allowing the excess to drip off and then carefully placing in the oil. Once the top is browned, flip the fillet and continue to fry until the thickest point reaches 145°F. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

Serve.

Serve with tartar sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Old Bay Fish Fry

lb Cod Fillets (or any neutral firm white meat fish)

Cup Almond Flour

tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese

tsp Bay Seasoning

tsp Garlic Powder

tsp Red Pepper Powder

Whole Egg

Cup Sparkling Water

tbsp Mayo

tbsp Dill Pickles (minced, about 1/2 spear)

Salt

Lemon

Gather all the ingredients.

If making the optional sauce, finely mince dill pickle spears and place into a small mixing bowl. Otherwise, skip to step 4).

In the same small mixing bowl, combine mayo, onion salt and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.

Prepare fillets by washing with cold fresh water and then drying fillets very well with a paper towel. Cut fillets into about 3 x 2 inch cuts and set aside.

Prepare batter by combining Almond Flour, grated Parmesan cheese, Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper powder, egg and Sparkling Water. Use a hand/stand mixer to mix (you can hand whisk, but batter won&#39;t be as airy).

Take a piece of fillet and dip into batter mix and set aside.

Pour enough cooking oil to cover half the fillets into a skillet of choice (we use a cast iron pan) and heat oil up to 375F (if you don’t have a thermometer, just wait until the oil starts to lightly smoke, about 3-5 minutes).

Once up to heat, reduce heat to medium, carefully add coated fillets and cook for 1-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for 1-3 minute until golden brown. Once done, transfer fillets to drying rack and leave for about 1 minute (if you don&#39;t have a drying rack, you can just place them on a plate with paper towels).

Once all excess oil has dripped off, transfer the fried fish fillets to a serving plate and serve with optional sauce.
