Korean BBQ Beef Sloppy Joes will be your new favorite easy weeknight dinner! With only five ingredients, you can whip up these yummy warm sandwiches in 20 minutes.

Korean BBQ Sloppy Joes

canola oil (or other neutral tasting oil)

green onions (thinly sliced, dark green parts reserved)

red bell pepper (finely diced)

lb. lean ground beef

Korean BBQ sauce (see notes)

hamburger buns (I

sesame seeds (for garnish (optional))

Heat the vegetable oil (1 tablespoon) in a large skillet. Add the white and light green parts of the green onions, as well as the diced red bell pepper. Sauté until softened and starting to brown.

Add the ground beef (1 pound.) to the skillet and cook/brown completely, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as you go.

Add the Korean BBQ sauce (1/2 cup) to the skillet. Stir together and bring to a simmer on low, simmering for 5 minutes or so uncovered until sauce has thickened. Stir in the dark green onions parts.

Divide the beef mixture into the hamburger buns (4), garnish with more dark green onion parts if you have them, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using. Serve.

These homemade Korean Sloppy Joes are perfect for hamburger buns, sliders, or lettuce wraps. They are full of amazing flavor and can be made in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

Asian pear

garlic (chopped)

soy sauce

Tablespoon fish sauce

Korean paste

broth

light brown sugar

Salt and pepper

Mini slider buns, large hamburger rolls, or lettuce wraps

Place sliced cucumbers, rice vinegar, white sugar, chili flakes, salt, and sesame oil in a bowl or mason jar. Stir to combine. Set aside in the refrigerator.

Heat a large 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef, pork, chopped yellow onions, white parts of the chopped green onions, chopped garlic, and grated ginger. Stir and cook until the meat is cooked through and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.*

Then add your soy sauce, fish sauce, grated pear, gochujang, broth, brown sugar, and sesame oil and stir. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce is heated through. Top with green parts of green chopped onions. 

Place on sliders, hamburger buns, or in lettuce wraps. Top with pickled onions and enjoy.
